Not a great fan of being linked with good players, it brings with it that cruel combination of Everton and preseason hope.

Might be easier on everyone to go back to the days of absolutely ruining simple transfers for the likes of Leroy Fer. It's character building

I think we've had our fair share of character building, we should be built by now

Ok chuckles, care to explain what one word of that post has to do with Everton transfers?

It was responding to a post which suggested that the West Ham owners, who are apparently competing with EVERTON in the TRANSFER market, made money out of sex toys . They didn't they were football crazy publishers and made all their money in the UK. Unlike the apparent back seat investor in Everton, who might possibly have visa problems. Accordingly they might be in a better position than Everton in the transfer market. I could have gone on to say that the pull of London is strong for some footballers, but I didn't because I didn't want to appear unneccessarily over negative about Evertons chances in the transfer market. Without blue tinted glasses on, Everton and West Ham would have a fairly equal pull for players(slightly a stronger pull to Everton) but this is balanced by the pull of London and a shiny new stadium. I think sometimes when discussing our club it is neccessary to make comparisons with our opposition. And I must admit that I've had a lot of work on in the last week or so, and wasn't sure that the Gomez referred to in the thread was our former loanee, or entirely different player, the latter turning out to be the case.

Its true - he's a LW and so is Richarlison who we forked out £40 million for.

At the start of the season Bernard was on the bench he only started when Richarlison was moved up top against Leicester and later on towards the season end with Richarlison out wide over on the right.

End of the day mate Its a squad game - having Bernard on the bench ready to replace either Richarlison or Neres would be a sign of strength/progression not something to be against.

Tbf West Ham could be the team out of our little 7-11th pack that could cause us the most competition should they keep spending

Rice Fornals

Anderson Lanzini Yarmolenlo

Gomez

At present that front 4 is better than ours should they get Gomez and they have the likes of Arnautovic on the bench whereas we have DCL and Tosun. If Zouma doesn't resign its back to the drawing board for another CB.

I wouldn't worry too much but to laugh off West Ham/Wolves/Leicester is a bit Geordie deluded considering they all are our level at present sadly.

Our job this summer has to be signing players to take us forward and push ahead.
But they'll be chasing each other around with rubber dongs that they got paid in from the porn barons because Pellegrini can't go out in daylight training because he'd turn to ash.

Bernard spent time on the bench because he wasn't fit. In his first games he was always the first to be substituted ,usually at half time or slightly after. It was the second half of the season when he came into his own.

But again mate how can he and Richarlison both play at the same time when both are Left Wingers?

Bernard only played because Richarlison was moved out of position to try compensate for our weakness up front and later out wide on the right.

If we go and spend £40 million + on Neres who plays largely on the left/right it means one of Richarlison or Bernard is starting from the bench and I highly doubt it'll be Richarlison.

As I say its a sign of strengh- some of our fans moan at the thought of quality on the bench its really weird - Man City dont complain when they can bring on the likes of Sane and KDB off the bench!
