Gomes is practically done, and we’re getting him at a real bargain price, but with some fierce add ons.
Zouma is 70-30 not going to happen, but we remain very interested, however we have 2 possible alternatives in mind if it doesn’t happen.
Brands is looking to bolster the front line. There was serious interest in Neres, but he’s walking away at the price quoted. Gaich is available but brands has other targets he wants to pursue first.
In midfield sosa is a done deal depending on the work permit but he’s seen as one for the future and won’t necessarily feature this season.
We are in advanced negotiations for a PSv right back. He will play understudy to Seamus this season with a view to taking over next.
Outgoings are proving difficult and it appears that more will be loaned than sold.

Possibly

I can’t disagree with that but the other factor is if the top 6 will start performing better as a whole too also putting in more goals and conceding less
RS and City probably can't do significantly better than they already have. Chelsea lost their manager (who is really good even though the London media will say different) and Hazard so they aren't looking like improvement candidates. Spurs could do better with midfield additions but a lot rides on if anyone important leaves. Arsenal apparently have a small budget and they are weak past the forwards. If teams play to win at the Emirates they might do it. United are a mess. My guess is this 3 year run of the "Big 6" will not last 3 more.

....it’s Wednesday 19th June and it’s great communicating with Blues from around the globe. It appears we are on the verge of our first major signing of the summer, here’s this morning’s Toffee transfer rumours;

- The Mail and various other outlets report Everton are close to securing the permanent signing of 25 year old Andre Gomes from Barcelona in a £22m deal. Sportswriter Paul Brown suggests Catalan press are saying Marcel Brands has played hard ball in negotiations and secured the midfielder for £20.5m.

- Argentine’s TyC is pretty sure Santiago Sosa’s move to Everton has collapsed because he couldn’t get the documentation required to secure an EU Passport. The players representatives, however, want the Toffees to buy him and loan him back to River Plate.

- According to Calciomercato, Everton are still in the hunt for Juventus’ 19 year old striker, Moise Kean, and are preparing a £26m bid. They point out that Marcel Brands has a very strong working relationship with the players agent, Mino Raiola.

- Recent quotes from his agent confirming Everton’s Nikola Vlasic is in talks with CSKA Moscow means Newcastle are likely to miss out on their target. The Magpies won’t sign anybody until Benitez commits his future to the club.

- Vital Football say there doesn’t appear to be any suitors interested in Everton’s Sandro Ramirez. The 23 year old striker striker failed to score a single goal in 26 appearances whilst on loan at Real Sociedad.

- TRT Sport claim Besiktas are about to make a €2m bid to take Everton’s Ademola Lookman on loan next season. Read Crystal Palace weblog, however, say Palace aim to wrap up a permanent deal for the winger this summer.

- The Liverpool Echo report Everton and Leicester are showing interest in Luton’s 21 year old English defender, James Justin.

- The Echo also suggest 34 year old Leighton Baines is expected to sign a new deal with Everton in the next few days.

- A Bola claim the Toffees could make a move for Benfica’s 27 year old striker, Haris Steferovic. The Swiss international scored 23 goals in 29 appearances last season.

The league as a whole is more competitive, we just need to focus on winning more games and hoping the points obtained by those above us is diminished by lesser teams.

We were too inconsistent last season and hopefully the new hunks we sign add potency to a team that finished well.

Still a lot of work to do and to get top 6 this season will require luck and loads of it.

Not expecting we will finish top 6, but I hope we make a good fist of it.

Also, for the Bernard criticisers. The lad oozes quality and makes us perform better, there’ll be games when a different option out wide is tactically a better option - but take him out the team and we look weaker with the ball and without it. Not to mention his partnership with Digne which will create more goal scoring opportunities as it flourishes.

Bet I'm not the only one who has just shook their head when reading that bit about Sandro am I ?

Lots of chatter, big summer coming up for Brandalf but he certainly seems more qualified for the job than Walsh was.

The Moise Kean scenario is definitely a good thing to pursue. No guarantees it pulls off, but Mina Riola will be thinking a transfer now with a wedge with a view to the lad using us as a stepping stone with another wedge for him. He’s a snake and will be focused on making money.

Only helps us that Brands according to the article has a decent relationship with him.

*I realise am being a bit too confident this can happen - but greed makes people do strange things.

Cheers eggs.

Think Kean would be a bit of a coup given how highly rated he seems to be in Italy. Not sure we have the pulling power to make that one happen.

I cannot think of a more dire situation at ANY club, where a player has been on massive money and too crap to even loan out. We really are trapped here.

Cheers Eggs. Effing hell at Sandro, I think Everton have killed his mind

Pardon my ignorance, but is a medical required to finalize the sale of Gomes, for whom the club already has medical data? Or is it an abbreviated medical?

Also, my apologies for asking you Bungs. Anyone can answer.
I would imagine it's a formality. Last year he came in on the back of an injury. Depending in funding, insurance, due diligence, etc for a 20 (Plus?) million pound purchase I'd be more surprised if there wasn't one.

Also the doctor wants to see him in his pants.
