Richarlison played very well on the right last season. So considering this place has given its sage opinion that he can’t be a number 9 next season (despite playing well for us from that position) where exactly is he going to play? Probably on the right which means we don’t need a right winger in the window in my view.

If we bring in a central striker we will have Richarlison Bernard Walcott Lookman for the wide positions and we still have Bolasie Mirallas Dowell on the books who would all look to play there. Can’t see anyone coming in in these positions unless we clear a good 2 or 3 out.

Wouldn't shock me if all five of those guys went in the window if we could actually get someone willing to take them off our hands

whether he meant it or not, why bring colour into it?

there was absolute no need for a comment like that

every country has its problems with racism

I think the point being made (albeit probably poorly) was one of representation. It was a fair point.

What I would say though is that language and nuance is important, especially when it comes to these kind of topics.

I know it’s easy to feel like it’s all PC gone mad but it’s not PC. It’s appreciating that people may be offended by certain language or behaviour. And having empathy for that. It’s appreciating intersectionality and difference of experience and accepting that not every cohort of people will have the same thoughts or feelings.

It’s hard to navigate, the rules change all the time, it’s confusing and frustrating. But that doesn’t mean it’s wrong or PC has gone too far. The status quo is being challenged and that’s always difficult.

(This isn’t directed at you by the way, it’s a broader point).

Interesting. Dowell especially. I mean if Siggurdson pulled up tomorrow our options at number 10 would be limited. Bernard could perhaps move in there but Dowell would be the only other natural in that position. We’d therefore need to keep an extra body on the flank to cover that eventuality.

I can only see all 5 leaving if we brought in a wide forward, a striker, and an attacking midfielder. Without that, Bernard and Richarlison become the first subs for number 10 and striker position as well as being the first choice wide players .

In your view but not in Brands or Silva’s. When silva was asked about onyekuru fir next season, he said we would then have 5 right footed wide players, we need a wide player with a left foot, or words to that effect.

And either loaned or sold, mirallas, Dowell and bolssie won’t be here. Also I’m certain lookman will be gone as well. So we will definitely be getting a wide player imo

I think they could go if we get offers for them and we would then have to replace them, or at the very least promote from within

Lookman is as good as gone IMO. He seems to want out, Silva seems to be exasperated with him and the fans (Certainly online) have turned on him. We get a good offer and I think the club will get shut of him (Which is a shame in my eyes because I think he's got real potential)

If Siggy got hurt I think Silva would just go to a traditional 4-3-3 and just play another central mid like Williams, Davies, McCarthy, Schneiderlin etc

So I can see why Silva/Brands would be looking at possible winger incomings

I think if we keep one it will be Walcott, seems a very good professional and has good experience. And probably while not over the moon, would just get on with it if he was 2nd/3rd choice

I just don't think Dowell's got it unfortunately. The more I see of him the more he just looks like a Championship/relegation candidate player. He'll be 22 very early in the season and has been around for a long time, I can't help thinking if he was going to make it here it would have happened by now.

Watching him for the under 21s he looks way behind Maddison and Foden to me.

Maybe palace will come in for Lookman, have money and possibly loosing Zaha. And they don’t have that many wide options as it is.

Yeah

Of the five it'd likely be him and Dowell who you'd think would have most chance of staying, Walcott because he'd probably be happy to get on with it and Dowell because he's still young and brings some versatility to the table

Mirallas and Bolasie will surely be sold if they can be I think. Neither impressed on loan and Silva doesn't seem enamored with either

Lookman seems to be down more to whether we can get a good fee for him

Lookman to Palace and Walcott to someone like Saints wouldn't shock me at all

Mirallas and Bolasie is more down to finding clubs who both want them and are willing to pay their wages (Or at least take them on loan to pay part of their wages)

Tbf feminists do my head in, seems every white man is the sole purpose for every problem in the world. Before any mob decides I need banning , beaten and shamed , I’m all for equal rights , it’s pretty sad state of affairs that I actually have to write that tho tbh

Looool.

White man complains about being persecuted whilst complaining about others complaining about being persecuted.

Black market organ thieves? Not actual football clubs, surely...
