Erm, no.

He’s played 51 games and 3,775 minutes which is roughly ~42 games.

And what do you mean who even thinks like that? It’s just common sense - you can’t impact a game when you’re not on the pitch.

Say you play 20 matches and score 3 goals but you’ve actually only played 200 mins over the 20 matches:

Are you a crap 3 in 20 striker or are you a 3 in 2 striker.

Ahhh fair enough I was using whoscored and it didn't have the copa del Rey minutes on it for some reason.

But you can't just use the minutes played to gauge a players striker rate, that mental.

Two players might of played 900 minutes each. One has scored 7 and the other has scored 5.

The one that scored 7 has been mostly coming on for the last 20 minutes of games and playing against tired defenders when the team is chasing a lead. He's started 4 games all season and hasn't scored in a single start but scored 7 in the other 27 substitute appearances.

The other lad came back from injury with 10 games to go in the season and starts all of them plays the full 90 in all of them and scores 5.

According to you the first one is the better striker.

Dcl has played around 22 full games then (1974 minutes played last season) and has directly involved in 11 goals so hes a 1 in 2 striker then?

But I’m not arguing when the minutes were accrued just that they were. You can’t honestly tell me you don’t understand this.

Imagine we signed Aguero but only brought him on for the last 5 mins of games for his first 10 games. Say we did and he didn’t score. Would you say “my god, 10 games without a goal!” or would you be saying he’s not had enough time to score the goals?

I don’t even want this guy I’m just sick of people not using basic stats properly.

I get it it's just wham. As I said according to you dcl is a 1 in 2 striker.

You're example is very exstream and irrelevant. We are talking about a player then when subbed on was usually being subbed on around the 60th-67th minute. He has plenty of time to impact games and should he counted as games played when looking at stats. In fact the latest he was ever subbed on was the 68th minute twice. Twice he was subbed on at half time and once he was subbed on in the 34th minute. Are you telling me they shouldn't count as full appearances?
