He might not be prolific but he works hard and will cause some problems to some defences as his done before.

As for goals ask him to aim for the corner flags and he might get one or two

He has a knack of getting a goal. Everything else about his game is absolutely gash

Gana is very good at what he does, but the skills in his role aren’t that rare- guys who can tackle and defend are easier to find than guys who can score 15 goals. If we can sell Gana and get big money for him at his age, get a guy who does 80% of what he does at 40% of the price, and have funds left over to invest elsewhere, grab it and run.

Edit: Gana and his comps in this thread are all African. Bet that good scouting of AFCON- or Copa- would yield a couple of young players who could do the job and come cheaply.

Mate this isn’t the stock market , 80% of what Gana does for 40% of the price ? Football doesn’t work like that, if he makes 80% of the tackles Gana makes and Gomes doesn’t make any improvement does that mean the other team have more chances? Goals? We lose points ? I was all up for selling Gana but is attitude since his failed dream move and his massive improvement in forward passing ( still not great but it is massively improved has made me want to keep him and be happy with the fact we get 5-6 years service for 7m rather than have a 20m profit

Not similar at all. The RS lose their best players to top teams. They don't sell when a player that works in their system reaches 29. They have Jordan Henderson at 29, had him for 7 years or so and there are no rumbles about him going anywhere or being replaced because he's integral to their system and they want to win things.

If Real Madrid came in with a £30m bid for Henderson, they absolutely would sell him.

....it’s Friday 12th July, and here’s this morning’s Toffee transfer rumour round-up;

- According to L’Equippe, PSG have renewed their interest in Everton midfielder, Idrissa Gueye with an opening €30m (£27m) bid, but that is unlikely to persuade the Toffees to sell the 29 year old who is contracted until 2022.

- Italian journalist, Fabrizio Romano say it’s good news for Everton that Juventus striker Moise Kean will not be included in any deal between the Serie A champions and Ajax for Matthijs de Ligt. Tuttosport reckon Juventus will not sell the 19 year old for less than £35.9m.

- Everton’s Official Site has confirmed season long loan deals for: Midfielder Kieran Dowell who has joined Derby’s training camp in Florida: 19 year old goalkeeper, Joao Virginia who has joined Championship side, Reading: and 18 year old forward Korede Adedoyin who has just signed his first professional contract ahead of joining Scottish club, Hamilton Academicals.

- TeamTalk are reporting Hull City are winning the race to sign Everton winger Josh Bowler on loan. Birmingham City, Derby County and Middlesbrough are all keen on the 20 year old. Meanwhile, TWTD say Toffees full-back, Luke Garbutt, is closing in on a loan move to Ipswich Town.

- The Mirror suggest West Ham are exploring a move for Diego Costa after losing out to Valencia for the signature of Maxi Gómez. Everton and Wolves are also linked with the 30 year old Atletico Madrid forward.

- The Daily Mail claims RB Leipzig are in advanced talks with Everton over a permanent move for Ademola Lookman and the deal is close to being agreed. Journalist, Paul Joyce, suggests Everton rejected an opening £15m bid for the winger.

- According to Yahoo in Brazil, Everton target David Neres is set to sign a bumper new deal with Ajax. Also, there are articles picking up on recent links with forwards, Nicolas Pépé of Lille and Barcelona’s Malcom.

15m bid for lookman. Unbelievable. Absolute dog players like Tyrone Mings going for 26m. The cheek of it!

Unfortunately it’s what clubs are in for your players. We need another team in the mix to potentially put the price up. Maybe palace, have money and especially if Zaha goes
