In my opinion the u23 league is messing things up for young lads, look at Simms bagging more for under 18 than Rooney ever did, but the general opinion is that he needs a few years in the u23 before he's ready, but the problem is in a few years he'll be 21 and the general opinion will be if he was good enough he'd have made it by now.
Doesn’t really work as a comparison though does it? By the time Rooney was simms’s age he’d been our best player for 2 years, been the star of an international tournament, moved, and scored a champions league hat trick for his new club. Saying he didn’t score as many at under 18s seems a bit harsh...

Was quite excited for next season given Brands does his magic and teams like Arsenal and united could potentially implode leaving the door open for us, but now am not so sure looking at how Leicester have strengthened and their form towards the end of last season (Mr coke head in particular) and obviously wolves doing bits, even west ham with Fornals and if they get Haller you can 100% guarantee he will do a Yarmolenko and score a brace against us. Basically would be so Everton if we finish above United, Arsenal to come seventh behind Wolves and Leicester.

Don't be worried by Leicester they had decent form towards the end of last season but if you actually look at the results individually they're not that impressive.

He was in charge for 10 games won 5, drew 2 and lost 3.

Won:
Leicester 3-1 Fullham
Burnley 1-2 Leicester
Leicester 2-0 Bournemouth
Huddersfield 1-4 Leicester
Leicester 3-0 arsenal

Drew:
West ham 2-2 Leicester
Leicester 0-0 Chelsea

Lost:
Watford 2-1 Leicester
Leicester 0-1 Newcastle
Man city 1-0 Leicester

The only stand out results really are Chelsea (which was last game of the season with nothing to play for with Chelsea putting a weakened side out and missing 2 sitters) and arsenal who were a absolute shambles at that point and had a player sent off after 36 minutes(the score was 0-0 at that point). Of the other 4 they beat were relagation fodder and Bournemouth are just Bournemouth aren't they.

Of the players they've brought in perez is hot and cold for me quality on his day but prone to disappearing for games at a time. Youri looks good but we will have to see how he adapts to the leauge when teams catch onto him. Vardy isn't getting any younger and there is a very good possibility they'll loose their best player in Maguire and replace him with dunk.

Look at our last 10 games verses the likes of wolves, west ham, Leicesters, man United, Chelsea and arsenal and see who had the best results if you want to cheer yourself up ;)

Exactly Rooney was given a chance.. we have been struggling big time for a goal scorer since Lukaku left, there is a goal scorer at the club but people don't seem to want us to give him a go.

Do we pick the team now then? Or is it actually just that the professional coaches who work with him every day haven’t seen fit to promote him?

Anyway, I hope we sign some players in the next week or so.
