So you’re saying he wasn’t good enough to start for Lille but he’s supposed to make a direct impact here? Idk.
That's a really good point but think we need to consider that this is really only brands and silvas second window together, we did nothing in January and theyve inherited a huge mess. We cant afford to splurge 70 80 90 million on a proven goalscorer, lukaku going for 70 mill by the sounds of it after the season hes had and showing his limitations at top level for example. We are either going to bring in young potential with inherent risk but potential or proven but over the hill players.

Maybe this was covered earlier, but Adama Soumarao going to Monaco for 13M is a steal. Maybe we are looking for more of a ball playing player if we don't get Zouma, but man, that's a pretty talented player at a fairly low amount.

27, not an international and playing for a second tier French team isn't my idea of who we go after even if he is pretty good. If we can't get Zouma I'd prefer we went younger.

So we're going into the season with no real striker or at the very best case a striker who has been with the club for about a week. Great forward planning! We've only had three years since Lukaku stated his intentions of moving away from Everton.

....by my reckoning there’s 22 days left to conclude any business, here’s the Toffee transfer rumour round-up for Wednesday 17th July;

- Le Voix Du Nord continue to report Everton have made a €40m offer for Lille striker, Rafael Leao. The 20 year old remains unproven at the highest level, but scored 8 goals in 24 Ligue1 appearances last season.

- According to The Telegraph, Everton Manager, Marco Silva, is keen on Juventus’ 33 year old Croatian striker, Mario Mandzukic.

- The Liverpool Echo’s Phil Kirkbride, however, suggests Everton will only sign a new centre forward if Cenk Tosun is sold this summer.

- SkySports and other outlets reckon RB Leipzig have agreed a deal worth up to £22.5m (almost all of the payment up front) for Everton’s 21 year old winger, Ademola Lookman. An official announcement is expected in the next 24 hours.

- The Liverpool Echo comment that Matthijs de Ligt’s pending move to Juventus is good news for Everton because striker Moise Kean is not being used as a makeweight in the deal. Gazzetta Dello Sport say Everton remain favourites to sign the 19 year old but face stiff competition from Borussia Dortmund after Ajax withdrew their interest.

- The Liverpool Echo suggest Chelsea’s decision to allow Welsh defender, Ethan Ampadu to leave on loan could negatively impact the Toffee’s pursuit of Kurt Zouma. The Echo also say Everton have turned their attention away from Lille’s Nicolas Pepe after being put off by the forward’s asking price.

- L’Equipe report Everton interest in 24 year old midfielder Morgan Sanson, who is being made available for £30m by Marseille because of their financial problems.

- Calcio Napoli says Napoli have no interest in Everton’s Henry Onyekuru, but Sporx suggest Galatasaray have offered €1.5m to take the winger on loan for another season.

- According to The Telegraph, Everton midfielder Idrissa Gueye remains keen on a move to PSG, whilst Inside Football say Ajax’s Director of Football, Marc Overmars has confirmed a bid for winger David Neres (believed to be from Atletico Madrid) and will deal with the players future next week.

That's fair, but he's 13M and he's darn good. I also wouldn't be so quick to cast off Monaco as a second tier French team. He was also captain of a CL team with about the best defense in the league. The guy can play.

Bit about Tosun better be wrong. Be fuming if we go into another season with dcl, niasse and tosun as our forward options.

Everton want to sign a right-back this summer, Marco Silva has confirmed.
The Blues need competition for first choice Seamus Coleman after sanctioning Jonjoe Kenny’s season-long loan move to Schalke.
Silva started with Kevin Mirallas at right-back in Sunday’s friendly with FC Sion in Sunday before Coleman came on to replace the injured Joe Williams.
And Silva has confirmed that the club are hoping to recruit a new full-back before the August 8 deadline.

He told the ECHO: “In this moment, and since Jonjoe went on loan to Schalke, it has been a position we want strengthen.
“You cannot go through a tough competition like the Premier League with just Seamus Coleman.
“We are really, really happy with Seamus, he finished last season on a very good level but, of course, we have to sign a right-back also."

Schalke is the Stoke of the Bundislega ?!

So basically, what we will get for Gana will be what was used to bring in Gomes and Delph.

That's damn fine business in any walk of life.

Then Leao for what we get for Lookman + vlasic.

Leaving us to find the transfers of a centre back and winger. We will of course receive other fees from the likes of Vedic, McCarthy, tosun, niasse and possibly Henry. Wages shouldn’t be an issue with us having got rid of so many and having lost some big earners from the squad. Hopefully punt bolasie and mirallas as well.

That all seems pretty sustainable.

Edit/ add a right back as well
