Because our defense was crap. I'm confused, you would rather have a striker that scored 25 goals? Are you suggesting Lukaku from three seasons ago wouldn't make this team a lot better?

We finished 8th last year. We were a MUCH better team last year. We scored more goals. We gave up fewer goals. We did virtually everything better. Would you rather have the team from two years ago?

More to it than that.

What did Lukaku not score more with United?? Better players than he hd with us around him??
Why was our team in 1986 not as good as the 1985 or 1987 teams??

So much more than just adding any old striker to the team.

I want a striker, but i really dont think its as a bug issue as people think.

We add another winger, and DCL could add another 5 goals....that would do nicely. Team concede less, as they did the end of last season. We are much much better for it.

Lukaku works in a system all designed for him....thats not how the best teams work.

I do understand the desire for a better CF, though. In our last season with Lukaku, we put up 62 goals and 41 in open play. Last year was better than the prior year - we were SOOOOO bad - but at 54 and 33, we need to score more. No question.

We PUT UP 62 goals.
