So we going to meet with Palace to discuss Zaha this week? So unless we been sitting on our hands for almost 2 months what has stopped us meeting before unless:
1. The rumour is rubbish
2. Our first and 2nd choices aren’t panning out so down to the 3rd or 4th
3. We not particularly organised and rushing to close deals now.
4. We were waiting on the Lookman deal to close as we are skint

Any of those aren’t particularly positive except maybe the first one

That’s not an exhaustive list of choices at all.

Zaha scores a similar amount of goals and has more assists than richarlison. I would want Malcom too but he’s an unknown quantity in this league.

£80m for a player who has consistently had a similar record to a player you’d sell for £120m. And that includes a ‘homegrown’ premium.

Its a ridiculous amount of money but that’s the market tbh.

Buy low sell high. Do you understand that premise.

80m isn’t low. Malcolm is half the price. On the understanding that no one is buying Richarlison, you’ve got two choices - Zaha and no one. Malcolm and 45m to spend on a striker, or a Brazilian wonderkid, or a centreback. Which would you do?

Digne, Gomes, Bernard, all untested in this league when we bought them... so was salah, Aguero, Henry, bergkamp, ronaldo etc etc. You have to trust your scouts to identify they have what it takes to make it in the PL. I trust brands, based on last year.

Zahas game is largely prolific in the counter attack - do we need help in counter attack? Do we have more issue breaking defensive teams down at home?

How old is zaha? When does he get older? How old is Richarlison? How old is Malcom? How old is the Brazilian wonderkid? In 5 years who is more likely to retain their value?

He’s a good player - he’s totally not what we need.

"Sky Sources" will be either some fella working for palace or Zaha's agent leaking false info to the media trying to force Arsenal to play there hand, get the signing done and Palace can re-invest the money before the window shuts early.

Don't believe for a second that we'd

A - Consider Zaha at 27 this year a smart purchase at 80 million and whatever ridiculous wage he'd want.

B - Pay 80 million for any player

Maybe going for the 4-5 players scoring 10-12 goals each, which is better than 1 striker scoring 20 and the others getting 3-4.
Exactly, that way if we do splurge gazillions on one striker and he instantly gets injured we arnt fooked!!!!...seems the modern way now to play with a fluid interchangeable front 3

The player has been playing in AFCON.
