Exactly. Hasn't said we aren't signing a striker at all.
I get the feeling that Silva prefers the more dynamic, modern attacker who can play in a variety of roles across the front 3 as opposed to an out-and-our striker for his system.

That would give more credence to the links with Leao, Augustin, Neres & Lozano who would fit that role.

So likely we won’t be signing a ready made, superstar #9, but maybe a versatile, young forward with room to develop and provide competition for our current players.

But this is Marcel “Poker Face” Brands we are talking about here, so who knows? :D

I really like Dzeko and think he'd help, but you better believe West Ham is going to sign him for like 3 years on 150K+ a week. That's absolutely going to happen.

That team is screwed. Declan Rice is young and talented, Diop is as well. Andersen turns 26 in a week, but still would fetch a decent payout. Who else? Lanzini? 26, coming off an ACL tear, but we complain about Siggy only being a 10, where does that guy play? Gana marked him out of the game - which was amazing, BTW.

Wilshere? 27, probably on 100K, injury history, several surgeries...

...we are in a MUCH better spot.

The saddest part about it is that all the bedwetters in our fanbase will scream “AMBISHUN” in our faces and predict West Ham will finish above us (again, for the 6th successive year) when they bring in another freeloader at the end of his career on bumper wages for 2 years.

Yeh I get that mate, don't disagree, but people keep talking like because we have DCL, Lookman etc. we aren't going to be splashing out on a forward. Whether it's a traditional number 9 or not I still think we'll go big for someone.

Be like Wilshire 2.0 on here this if Dzeko goes to them.

Because they’re really getting value for their £100k per week for 5 league appearances this season aren’t they?

Knob heads fall for it every single season mate. They make a song and dance in the transfer market every summer and everyone buys it, hook line and sinker. Honestly you’d have some belly laughs going back through this forum from the last couple of summers, people absolutely seething when they were “beating us” to utter cack like Hernandez, Wilshere, Ogbonna, Feghouli, Byram, Hart etc. and appointing corpses like Manuel Pellegrini who retired 3 years ago. The only set of fans they’re more successful at pulling the wool over the eyes of, is their own.

Seems like this season's Joe Bryan to me. Most haven't watched him more than once but heard he's done a couple of boss things and say we should go for him. Imagine we'd signed Bryan instead of Digne.
Tierney is better than Bryan much better and might even cost less depending who is around there next year

Certainly looks to have something. Looks just as impressive as Maddison did last year for Norwich and he’s managed the step up well. Every player is different of course but I wouldn’t mind betting that Adams will be a fine player for somebody next year if they take the chance on him.

Match going Brummie on site today reckoned we would sign him. While I am taking all rumours at this stage with a hefty pinch of salt I do think this player fits the profile of any forward Brands is likely to sign.
He’s young ,experienced and determined , can play across the front three, has an impressive burst of pace and a definite eye for goal.
He is different enough from Calvert-Lewin to provide an alternative when needed or support when required.
Stepping up from the Championship may mean he will be willing to compete with Dom from the bench as opposed to expecting to start from the off.
Added to this , with the forthcoming reduction in foreign players the already substantial premium on British players will undoubtedly increase making him an attractive risk financially.
Only fly in the ointment seems to be criticism of his work rate, however that is something he appears to be addressing latterly.
As I said whether or not this rumour has legs whoever we do sign may well share many of Adams attributes.

Che Adams isn't even better than DCL so can this rumor just die already. Leao is intriguing but he has a lot to prove as well. Any of the boys from Frankfurt would be great and I'm sure there are others out there who are better than Che freaking Adams.
