Swear we just bought a younger more promising version of him in Gbamin? Swerve
Could mean Silva wants to stick Gbamin in that CB position

Silva's quotes after the game

So we have to look for one winger. We have to look for one central defender. Let’s see in the middle zone if we do something more or not. Then a possible striker and right back.

Maybe its true? Or if thats the young Brazilian Reinier he's talking about

Marco Silva has reiterated his desire for potentially five more signings to come into Everton before Thursday's transfer deadline.

The Blues confirmed the arrival of Jean-Philippe Gbamin on Friday evening to become the club's fourth transfer of the summer – following Jonas Lossl, Andre Gomes and Fabian Delph through the doors at Goodison Park.

However, the manager is still desperate for more arrivals, and has called on Everton's hierarchy to deliver new players in a number of positions before the transfer window closes on Thursday.

Silva said following his side's draw with Werder Bremen : “We have to [be busy]. We have to. In this moment, as you know, our number is not really big. We need some more players. We lost one central defender. He was not our player but we lost him. We lost Gana, Lookman also. So we have to look for one winger. We have to look for one central defender. Let’s see in the middle zone if we do something more or not. Then a possible striker and right back.

“It has to be a really busy week. Of course, it is not the best things but our board and our football structure, they are trying to do their best to give us the conditions to be more competitive and be a better team.”

Moise Kean is closing in on a move to Everton and could become the club's fifth summer signing in the coming days. However, the manager refused to be drawn on the young Italian striker joining the Blues until the move is officially confirmed.

Silva added: “I can’t talk about him now as there is nothing official. Let us see what we can do. I hope we can finalise it. In this moment, we have Cenk, Dominic - a young striker - and we are looking for a striker to improve our squad. Once we have signed him, then I can tell you about the feedback and what is my feelings about him."

Fabian Delph was withdrawn through injury after five minutes of Everton's 0-0 draw with Werder Bremen on Saturday and Silva was cautious when giving an update on the midfielder, but admitted he could need a scan in the coming days.

He remarked: "We haven't had all the feedback from the medical staff yet, but we have to wait now. Let's see over the next few days. I think on Sunday or Monday we will find out more about what it is. It looks nothing really serious, but it's in the groin. It's [a scan] possible, I'm not sure yet, I haven't spoke to the doctor yet.
I spoke to him [Delph] and he's not in full pain but he feels something there.

"It's not a good thing when something like that happens. We are preparing for one game, and as you know our squad is not really big. Our bench this afternoon is not what I want, but it's what we have in this moment. At this moment our number is not really big to have these type of problems."

Injury to Delph could potentially make him a doubt for the match against Crystal Palace next weekend.

However, Silva is still wary of the issues surrounding introducing Gbamin to the fold too early, and is keen to see how the Ivory Coast international settles into USM Finch Farm before making any decision on his involvement at Selhurst Park. The boss said: “The problem is when the players arrive in the last few days before the Premier League is starting. In this moment, if you ask me now it looks impossible that he can start. But in football, nothing is impossible so let’s see how he starts.

He started training this morning but he hasn’t done anything for the last three or four weeks. ill he be ready in three or four days? Of course not. But we have problems in that position. Let’s see how he works this week and adapts to the different methodologies.”

Could be something in it then. May be looking for more central cover and ship off schneiderlin.. Seriously hope he's on about our own version of Jesus though

Silva still talking about CM area? Wonder if Schneiderlin and McCarthy are leaving.

But that leaves Gomes, Delph, Gbamin, Davies, Gylfi.

Bakayoko is available. Not done anything at Chelsea but apparently done well at Milan after a rocky start and was excellent at Monaco.

According to
@lequipe
- Everton are intrested in signing Abdoulaye Doucouré from Watford.. Everton are set to submit a €30m bid to sign him. He would be tempted by a new challenge and the idea of joining Everton would not displease him.

Big Marcel gonna offer 30m.

LOL

He simply dont care does he.

I expect this to be done for 15m plus add ons.

Ahhh this is why he's brought Kenwright in from the cold. Nobody bids low like our Bill.

We’ve had no takers for Tosun & Niasse. If we could somehow shift them by the deadline we would definitely ok at a more experienced loan or free transfer to help the younger guys but we cannot carry the wage without offloading. We need to demand far more of Bernard as well as DCL. He cannot keep missing sitters and shooting like a 3 year old girl and expect to play.

Neither of these were ever gonna leave before deadline day, teams know we will accept 50% of their wages on a loan to off load them for a season. Someone will take them though
