Including Kean and possible Jesus (crosses fingers), we'd be looking at signing a CB, RB and a RW, with Doucouré as a bonus on top of that. Think uncle Usmanov would've been better off staying at Arsenal. My god, we're bleeding him dry.

Yeah fair comment...kean is still a kid, so will need our patience.... Think lukaku was 20 his first season with us, so it's possible (being hopeful) that sometimes young players just have it...
Agreed we do still need another option up front though...
Forgot rom was that young

I understand your desire for a cheap backup ... but that’s not where we are “supposed” to be heading
Pretty much every backup player in the top six sides would easily get a start on their own merit. If we aspire to that level we need the same squad quality on our bench.
Let Cahill go to Palace and Hodgson’s Darby and Joan bench . We really don’t need him
No way Arsenal's front line defenders, let alone backups, would walk into our side. Who are the backup players at the top 6 who sit on the bench there but are better than our 1st team?

Looking forward to seeing the likes of Sigurdson and Bernard playing with a striker in front of them who can actually make intelligent runs for them to pick out, and who can finish.......i'm hopeful that the addition of Kean is gonna improve Sigs, Bernard & Richarlison... If it does, we have a pretty exciting midfield... Doucoure and Gbamin (think Gbamin will be a squad player) can add a bit of muscle beside Gomes..
Wouldn't say no, but not sure we need to be spending a fortune on Zaha...although I see the need to inject some pace into the team....should try include Walcott, tosun & Mccarthy in a swap deal

Yes I agree wholeheartedly with that. Sigurdsson is a very intelligent player, far more so than I appreciated and far more so than I believe he showed even at Swansea. He has fantastic vision. I agree as well, if Kean comes in, it could be a great partnership and Calvert Lewin ultimately needs to improve his movement substantially (as he has other aspects of his game). I'd like to see more composure from Bernard in front of goal but he too should get more assists.

The question was more about what happens if Doucoure comes, a fictional scenario. In such a scenario, over time I would say Sigurdsson is phased out, or at least Sigurdsson in his current role his phased out. That doesn't mean first game of the season he's out it means over an 18 month period we review how we utilise him.

As for Zaha, he wouldn't be my signing, but there's a time and place sometimes for getting someone in who does "what it says on the tin". A front 3 of Zaha, Richarlinson and Kean is potentially a front 3 that could make us competitive for the top 4. There is enormous power and pace across the team as well.

I can’t see anything in these Doucouré links. Would cost a fortune and we still have a centre back, right back and winger to buy. We’re about even with our transfer dealings to date but that’s before we drop £30m on Kean.

When silva mentioned doing something in the middle then he might have been talking about someone like lemina who could be available on loan.

I think if Doucoure comes, we can assume Zouma won't be coming. We would likely sign younger back up centre back on loan and Mina would be first choice (which I suspect was the original plan all along).

I very much doubt we'll sign another five if you include Kean. With the different cut-off in Europe, we can't be sure who will be gone by the end of the month to offset the expenditure and it would probably be too much of a stretch financially anyway.

I can see Silva's logic absolutely and we do need that many but if you want four then you ask for five. I think he would be quite happy with getting in Kean + RW / CB / RM. I would absolutely take that now too. What was interesting was his comments about midfield which throws a joker into the pack but what position would he then potentially sacrifice?

We have a huge few days ahead, even logistically the execution of so many transfers in such a short timeframe is challenging but at least they have form for it. But as things stand I would only expect Kean to be done ahead of TDD, and we'll have to try and get at least another three in on Thursday.

Interesting for me is if we go to Barca in the last week and pick up a loan of two

Think the Rakatic stuff is pure bs, but for a season loan he'd be perfect - allow us to sign the young Brazilian lad, loan him to Ajax/PSV in january without worryi g we'd be short on numbers

Loans seem to be easier deals to do than purchases.

1) We are overstocked in that dept and have spent a lot of money in central midfield this window.

If McCarthy, Besic, Schnederlin go - this makes sense even then we have a lot of central midfield options.

Noticed quiet a few people saying we're overstocked in Central midfielders... Don't understand this....

Who are these players?....

You mentioned Sneiderlin, Mccarthy, besic here... All championship level players at this point.... Davies, did a whole pile of nothing last season....

Where's our genuine options?...

Gomes, and Gbamin who we don't know much about yet... None of the other 4 give us competition for places, or options from the bench..

We were lacking quality in that area last season, now we've lost Gana aswell...

We need another signing in that position, and Doucoure would improve us...
