not really sold on Abraham, He did naff all for Swansea, Was it because Swansea were utter garbage? Possibly but he's a young lad who's banging them in the Championship so I guess the links and speculation is fair, Signed a 5 year deal in 2017..

Tammy Abraham linked...i know @Nymzee mentioned him the other day.

If we are looking at 9 players to come in then I think thats the whole squad covered with any signings in the coming seasons being minimal.
Not sure it means there will be 9 incomings .
More like the "targets" identified have been sounded out .Could be 2/3 for the same postions.
Cant see any more than 4 or 5 first teamers meself like.

True. They were bought as prospect. Jags was playing in the PL with Sheff Utd.

I was not saying players would not turn out to be good from lower leagues.

What I was saying is that it is very unlikely a Championship club first teamer would be bought and becoming a starter instantly next season for a top 6 side.

Even all the examples you have mentioned in this thread were bought as prospect or investment eg Ali.

Good job we’re not a top six side then

Read back a few pages...23 out and 9 in apparently

Hypothetically if we have are selling players at their peak value then both Gana and Sigurdsson should be sold which could bring us in £60mil and £200k a week wages.

Then we build a 433 system using the other players and additions.

It appears as though if Brands is saying we wont be spending big money on players over 26 then we theoretically will be spending big on those under 26.

With Brands saying we already have our targets im surprised that theres nothing in the media (bar Neres)...
Zat we are not selling 2 of our best players

No, the coaches expenses are listed as a single line item in there by themselves. Singular write-off I believe.

I think it has to be transfer liabilities, or at least a big chunk of it is. It's not the financial stuff, that's clear where that is.

It'll be interesting to see how the FY19 books look like. But yeah, it's obvious Farhad financed a lot of the transfers.

But honestly, who are we going to sell that we'd take a bath on, really? Bolasie, maybe? But his book value isn't that high.

Walcott? Bought for 20M, 2 years left on a 4 year deal, $10M book value.
Cenk? Bought for 22.5M, 3 years left on a 5 year deal, $13.5M book value.
Niasse? Bought for 13.5M, 1 year left on a 4.5 year deal, $3M book value.
Schneiderlin? Bought for 24M, 2 years left on a 4.5 year deal, $10.7M book value.
McCarthy and Mirallas signed extensions off their initial deals, their book values have to be almost nothing.
Bolaise? Bought for 29M, 2 years left on a 5 year deal, $11.6M book value.
Sandro Ramirez? Bought for $5M, 2 years left on a 4 year deal, $2.5M book value.

Even if we break even above, the salaries for those guys above + Baines, Williams, Martina, etc. are like a combined 800K a week, over 40M a year. That's MASSIVE.

There are a couple of lads, who are on a contract knife edge, Martina, Niasse, McCarthy and Mirallas. One of two thing will happen, either we sell for a nominal fee or we will loan for a year and they eventually leave for free in 20, essentially you can forget about three of them as Everton players. In Jamseys case i think it could make financial sense to give him a new contract. Hes 27 and a 16 mill pound player, depending on his recovery that can be clawed back - my opinion mind, our only liability on him is wages.

I think someone would take a punt on Walcott in particular, someone like Norwich or Leeds if they were promoted, Southampton would make sense also or Bournemouth.

Bolaise and Tosun are killers, i suspect both will be here next season, maybe Bolaise on loan. i think Sandros future will be up to himself, his career has nosedived and a decision for him is to cut his losses and back himself elsewhere and leave nominally, hes done that before at Barca.

Morgan i think will stay unless a fee comes in.

I suspect some will stay even if they are surplus or options, i think Silva would rather have Walcott, Morgan and Tosun then not if there was no alternative.

Baines should stay, he still has something to offer, Jags im not so sure, if ready i think someone from the academy could take that slot or Holgate - i think Jags will leave personally, we invested big at center half last season in perpetration in my opinion.

In some of those deals we could be hitting the sweet spot were it makes sense to look at nominal fees Vs wages over the remainder of the contract, problem is the chances of some of those players getting a similar wage elsewhere are very unlikely.

He was far and away the most exciting player on show at the U20 world cup, and apart from Brazil every other top footballing nation took part. He also showed what he can do in Germany last season.

He certainly has quality, but that means nothing if he doesn't have the application. We'll see what develops in the summer.
As a wise old @Eggs once said , and this applies to Lookman
If it is to be , it is up to me
