Yeah feels like even before we get into the main striker position we need more goals from Bernard and whoever plays midfield next to Gueye. Siggurdson could do with increasing his strike rate on penalties and free kicks and Richarlison looking for 15 plus from a wide position. If we got all of that in place then we’re arguably just the 20 goal a season striker away from a CL level attack.

...as much as I like him, Bernard’s record suggests he’ll never make much of a goals contribution but this is what building a team is all about. At least we appear to have a strategy in place, which is a significant progression from Koeman/Walsh who operated separately to bring in who they wanted.

....Richarlison and Sigurdsson made decent contributions last season. Often think back to ‘85 as being a good team model reference, and then it was contributions from lots (Sharp, Gray, Heath, Sheedy, Mountfield, Steven) as opposed to a dependency on a single goalscorer.

Perhaps a top forward who contributes.
They did and of course. I mean all round too, it's obviously a team game and we need more cutting edge from everyone, we need to be more clinical at the sharp end. But to say we don't need a few more consistently scoring forwards too would be wrong in my view. As much as I don't like pointing to the RS they have multiple even on the bench. It helps, as well as not having a clinical first team striker, I don't look at our bench right now and see goals.

It’s all part of a successful blend of players, Bernard brings in Digne and has a good final pass on him, expecting more from him this year, but like yourself suspect he won’t score many. It’s the assists and chance creation I expect him to improve on.

How embarrassing would it be to take Lukaku back after the way he left us.

He's a treacherous knob

It wouldn't be embarrassing at all.

Why is he treacherous? He's a player who moved to a far bigger club for a massive fee. It hasn't worked out for him.

It won't happen anyway. It's all irrelevant. But bloody hell, he's hardly a traitor.

I wouldn’t take Lukaku back, for the price and wages - I’d want a player with more appetite for the game. He’s a good player on his day, but I think there is room for a better fit in between Richarlison and Bernard.

A player that can hold it up and bring others in with awareness and also bang them in.
I think one thing most people can agree upon is that Lukaku definitely has a healthy appetite.
