To be fair I reckon Brands knows more about football than any of us, I trust the players he goes for.

Me too really. Yet striker is the one position I wouldn’t mind bringing in a vet. I prefer his model for every other position though

I’ve watched him for Mainz and think he would be just the type of signing one might expect from Brands. Young, French, has played well in a “big 5” league and there is a lot to like. He is big, strong, can use both feet, has pace and can finish. He is not a completely finished product but there is certainly a player there.

Nearly very single top striker started off as an unknown for someone. If these players are already at a Europa league level European team then we can’t get them simple as that. We’ve just seen Madrid pounce on a guy from Frankfurt after one decent season. We can’t wait until Belloti is playing well on the European stage or Werner is then say ‘Everton should get them’, it’s too late by this point. We have to gamble early on the next stars before they’re known about.

If this is true; we should play DCL. Which I think we should.
