Buying players who can cover a second position in an emergency is fine providing they are god enough to start in their primary position. Gbamin has to be good enough as a CM to have any value as CB cover.

As for Lemina there is a terrific player in there but one of Southampton’s analytics guys (ex Celtic) is the son of a mate. He would fully concur with ijjy’s description of him as “a complete nob”. More importantly their manager has banned him from training and would sooner run him over with the team bus than shake his hand. We need to think very carefully about adding him...then think some more...then ask a friend...and decide against it.

Lemina is an odd one. He’s decent at football but a complete nob.

So I’m told.

He seems a bit of a tit like.

Southampton star Mario Lemina has received the UK's biggest-ever speeding fine and been banned from driving for a year.
The 25-year-old was hit with the £96,000 fine on Monday after failing to tell police on three occasions whether it was him behind the wheel when his Mercedes-AMG GLA45 was clocked for speeding.

Gabon international Lemina said he did not know whether it was his brother or cousin, both staying with him at the time, driving the £50,000 car
He admitted three counts of failing to notify police after ignoring their letters.

Lemina received 18 points on top of the 21 he already had on his non-UK licence, adding up to a year's driving ban.
The fine of £96,000 is three times his weekly salary at the Premier League club, but it could have risen to £144,000 had he denied he was driving at the time.
