The good news is that even as the stress levels become unbearable toward the end of the window, the sense of relief at getting anyone, even if its a couple of journeymen on the last day will turn the fume off as the new season begins.

What I love about summer is that for every player linked there are essentially two camps -
1. He could do a job here. He's better than what we've got. Well, who do you think we should sign then? It's a smart signing actually, we're obviously prioritising our budget for [insert position of need/name of player we are never going to sign]. Good squad player/backup.
2. He's terrible, he's worse than [insert name of current terrible player/name of player we are never going to sign]. We should sign this list of under 19 players instead that nobody (including OP) has seen play/even heard of.
My other summer favourite is everyone believing every jarg Twitter rumour about players arriving have some kernel of truth to them whilst simultaneously rejecting absolutely any jarg Twitter rumour about the small number of actually half decent players we still have leaving.
Doesn't matter if we're broke or minted this is how it goes for 3 months.
