Summer transfer window 2023

Che Adams although not the quality we'd all want, might have to be one of the realistic choices. We have little to no budget, teams aren't going to sell thier prized assets on the never ever, we just need to ensure the purchases made this summer are pragmatic and fit our system. We cannot waste money on players like Maupay, who might work in another system but just not ours.

Che Adams, although not sexy would work in our system better than Maupay.

Tbf to him he was actually fairly good when he came to Goodison this season.

Christ, why do people persist with this stuff? He's 27, with transfer fees and wages over the duration of his contract, it will represent a sizeable investment for a club with a limited budget. He will have zero sell-on value and no club bigger than us will want to purchase him, so he'll be another to just sit on his fat contract.

I find it mad that people are apprehensive about signing young wingers this summer who haven't so far banged in goals in their career, but may get better, but plenty of people are okay with signing a striker (whose main job is to do just that) who never does it but runs around a lot. It blows my mind.

Adams had only manged double figures twice in his career - once in League 1 and once in the Championship. For the huge investment this would represent, we should be aiming a damn sight higher than a Neal Maupay who can run.

What is our system, though? If it means sticking Adams up front on his own - which we did with a bunch of players that couldn't hack it last season - then he is going to get slaughtered. The only way he makes sense is if DCL is fit and that assumption has led to some bad decisions in the past. We need someone who can replace DCL when he's injured. I don't think Adams fits the bill

If we cannot do any decent signings due to financial restraints or the club is simply skint due to the stadium, the club need to be honest and come out and tell the fans, silence and no signings or crap ones last minute is just not going to cut it. Surely the board can see that there is going to be unrest again by the fans going into the season, and more protests going forward. The communication by this club is shocking, what is Bill doing? Farhard said he was keeping him on due to his expert transfer negotiating skills, what cut price crappie players. The club is a fcuking joke. Sean Dyche is happy with no signings, if he gets sacked he is happy to walk away with a multi million payout from soft lad Farhard and say there was lack of money, he could not make any signings and the whole merry go round starts again, other fans must be laughing their tits off at our club. The icing in the cake for them is us getting relegated and starting life in the championship, in new stadium. The script is all written
Apparently Thelwell did a interview with the FAB weeks ago but they haven't released it, classic Everton they would rather stick their heads in the sand and say nothing than give the fans any information on their plans.

There's a lot of fear around, isn't there? And the biggest for most fans is that we end up not having a new centre forward of any kind. Selling Simms and Cannon (and not selling Maupay) just makes it worse. We've made bad choices out of desperation before; let's hope we can hold firm this time

DCL & Deli a top six 9 & 10 🤣🤣. Are you OK lad? Maybe it's best to log off for a while and go out for some fresh air.
I said if he could get them back to their best and fit. Both mid twenties, DCL capable of 20 goals and Deli was one of the best under Poch? Not difficult to see the reasoning is it?

Also added 20% likelihood of it happening.. but hey stick with the doom pal 👍

It’s a big if but I agree with you, dele at his best in that attacking midfield role is Miles Better than doucoure. It’s if he has the drive/hunger and is mentally right. Going off the last few years it’s extremely doubtful.

But if he played 30 games and contributed with goals and assists. The 20mil we’d have to pay spurs would be a bargin
