Why are people forgetting about the Gordon and Kean money. We can't afford to sell our best players. But we can afford to buy decent players with what we have in the bank, surely

serious corrections needs to be made and those fees are part of that.

It’s also the wage bill, Gordan wasn’t on much and we weren’t paying Kean’s for the last few years so there’s not much gained by their departures.

We have to get the balance right between high earners who are contributing and young enthusiastic players trying to make a breakthrough

When he came on yesterday he caused City a lot of problems - his presence in the box was concerning for them.

If we can get a more mobile striker around him who who has better goal scoring possibilities then go for it. Also, his Bundesliga record was very decent.
A loan is ok in particular if we can sell Maupay to Italy. Maybe he is the backup of that starting striker and Dou. He played quite a lot as an AM at Man Utd. He covered a lot of grounds and never stopped putting pressure off the oppositions.

There's defo more to him than a big lad you hoof balls into.

Bottom line for me is that if Dyche wants him then I'll trust that, because I know he'll get a good partner in beside him.

I agree. Need to trust Dyche on that. I do think our main target is a starting ST on perm. Weghorst will likely to be a loan and a squad player. His pre-Utd records looked alright.

Who is forgetting that money? The Gordon money will have gone directly to pay off part of our yearly £100m losses, the same way the Richie money did the year before.

If its a choice between selling pickford or onana it's a no brainer. Onana may well increase in value next season, pickford will absolutely decrease in value. Everton need to start making smart business decisions, turning down a big offer for pickford and having him retire and get nothing would be a mistake.
If the right offer comes in for both then sell both on our terms as neither currently seems to want to leave.

It's 4-5 seasons away, why would I even be thinking about that right now as a fan? He's only just turned 29 - we look at replacing him after we sort out the rest of the squad.
And hopefully comfortably a prem team at that stage in better nick financially…..and think we’ve a far better chance of being that by keeping Pickford.
