Summer transfer window 2023

How much in wages are we paying out on players, who are either surplus to requiremen or offer zero to our first team?

Deli Ali, Gomes, Gbamin, Keane, Godfrey, Holgate, Patterson, Mykolenko, Maupey, Young.

I’d rather sign no one than add another like Che Adams. This board will never learn! Bring in these players, pay them more than any other club would, then wonder why we can’t get rid of them.

I‘d rather give the kids a chance & hope we have new owners by January.

The problem I have with all these phantom bid "they're just trying to keep the fans happy" theories is that quite clearly the fans are not in fact being kept happy and it's going to take more than a transfer rumour about a Udinese striker to change that, but mostly that it presupposes that anyone in a position of power at the top of Everton gives a rat's ass whether we're happy or not.
I dont think it's about keeping fans happy, it's about keeping fans from rioting at Goodison and vaulting into the directors box until we can get a win or a decent bit of form.

These people are transparent. As are their stooges like Myers who laughably feigns hurt when confronted with the idea he's doing the Everton hierarchy's business for them.

They are all hard faced gets who deserve punting into the Mersey. They're very antithesis of what our club is about / should be about.

Rationally this is why I have faith we’ll stay up before the final day this year versus last

Gordon and Simms have been replaced by Danjuma, Harrison, Chermiti and Cannon which is a far stronger attack imo
I also fancied we’d get a bit more luck with Dom’s fitness but we can’t rely on that

Our midfield is relatively the same with the negative that Gana will likely have less legs because of age but Garner and Onana should be better with another years experience

Defence is probably weaker centrally with Mina and Coady out and only Branthwaite back in but it depends as if Branthwaite lives up to some of the hype on here then he could be similarly good to Mina but likely stay consistently fit

Full backs are Young in for Myko which is not a long term solution but stronger this season

The injuries to McNeil, Iwobi and Harrison all at the same time and freak injury to Dom’s face have set us back though at a time we have a couple of huge games coming up.

So whilst I think our squad is better year over year already (hopefully another striker to come in) we really need to get some points in or we’ll have missed up to 3 very winnable games in the first 4.

With our injuries and slow transfer pace I wish we’d have had four hard games to start to the season
Agree with your points. I'm far from happy with the continuing transfer situation - especially the lack of signing a new striker. But injuries aside, the squad has been marginally improved while reduced in size too. I guess if we don't get a striker in, and frankly we all know that is critical, then our survival is at the mercy of who has the worst luck with injuries to key players this season between us and 5 other teams. Our squad seems to be the smallest except for possibly Sheff United?

I suspect Benj and Bobble get their info from the recruitment team and Al and Joyce get it from Kenwright it's all so pathetic and both are covering their arses when we sign nobody. This club is a binfire.

So far I disagree Mina is a huge loss, we lack pace and creativity and we lack a reliable striker. We have brought a couple of good players and yes injuries are hampering us, but this window hasn't solved one of these issues yet
