So... 4-5 weeks for the investment to be sorted out, no doubt the likes of Thelwell won't do a minute's work in that time, then it'll be another couple of weeks at best before we bring in any new faces.

The season starts nine weeks on Saturday, so we'll very likely not be able to afford any new signings any decent amount of time to train and get to know the squad before the season starts.

I mean, it's not like we're already significantly weaker than the squad that's just about scraped its way out of relegation for a second consecutive season...

This is closest to the way it's gona pan out.

Playing alongside Keane gives anybody a pass.

In that game, from my seat, Keane was being pulled out of position to cover Godfrey who struggled massively.

I'm not giving Keane a free pass - but Godfrey really stuck out.

I think that the performances when Mina replaced Kean showed how much he spooks the players around him. Given his leg break and bad bout of Covid I'd give him the benefit of the doubt to see what Dyche can do with him.

Athleticism he will always have its the ability to be a full back and his positioning is shocking.
He is actually scared of the ball at his feet with an opposition player within 10 yards of him.

For me he plays as a back up CB or doesnt get near the pitch.
I would prefer that. He's terrible. Showed glimmers of promise when he came but hasn't progressed at all. Need to get rid.

I think we can all agree that unless the board of directors is significantly changed - i.e., no Kenwright - and unless the squad is significantly refreshed, then there is no point whatsoever investing emotions in the inevitable "Relegation 23/24" thread.

You'd need to be mentally ill to expect another Houdini act - and cognitively non-responsive to imagine it's worth bothering about.
