If you denounce hypotheticals just because they are hypothetical then there’s little point engaging in this thread, which is 75% hypothetical discussion.

At present there’s a lot of noise about Onana being sold, and there’s talk of replacing him with the likes of McTominay at 20 million pound+, plus his wages on top.

I can definitely see movements in and out at central midfield. Should Onana go, then Phillips would be a great loan signing, and would allow us to use other funds to sign players in other positions.

I’d definitely ask for a minimum of £60m. Like last year though with richarlison, our negotiating position is weak, but I’d like to see us try and get higher than 60, as there is apparently a 20% sell on clause to Lille.

If Kovacic is on his way to City, then you have to wonder what that means for Kalvin Phillips imo. He will be wanting game time ahead of next years Euros, and City won’t be up for loaning or selling him to a rival. It would be good to see him at Everton.

Be a good player for Dyche too, need someone like that in CM

I love Gueye but he's getting on and should be an option off the bench to see games out.

Philips on loan with an option to buy would be excellent business, same if we could try the same for Richy.

The price would probably be prohibitive and his injury history is concerning BUT I think Christian Pulisic would be great for us

This 20% sell on clause is shocking business by us again, I think Brands would have done a better deal like he did with Kean
