Summer Transfer Window 2025 Thread

IF they don't go up what about that Hamer bloke at Sheffield United - looks a bit of a Graveson.

….nice gesture when he threw his shirt to the fans;

The Branthwaite issue is a big one. In an ideal world we 100% keep him, but, hes pure profit for psr, whereas players bought in are amortised over their contract term.

Its going to be a really interesting summer. I dont mind an additional years contract for gana and doucoure if it means we spend more on fewer players.
If we lose too many players, then we are going to be buying 7-10 average players.

The notion that we have 150-200 million to spend, and clear out the whole squad and replace with plenty of high quality players simply is not going to happen.
You mentioned the word amortised
So we could bring in 200mil worth of players and it will be 40mil next year if all on 5yr deals.
I don’t think we will spend that much, but it’s doable

Facundo Medina will reportedly cost £25-30 million in the summer from RC Lens as Everton are serious about the defender.

According to Football Insider, Everton are keen to sign Facundo Medina as they face competition from the likes of Aston Villa and Newcastle United. RC Lens could be forced into a sale owing to the overall financial state in Ligue 1, with a £25-30 million price point mooted about.

Facundo Medina has made himself a known player with some important performances for RC Lens over the years. The Argentine had adapted rather swiftly since his move from his home country to France back in 2020, and now he could be playing in his last season with the club.
interesting this. Thanks for posting. I think we need a right back, left back and centre back.

There is just no way lens would sell him for that much...20 millions at a push. Obviously agent at work here.

There’s no way I’d have Mangala back even if he regained full fitness.

There are two players from newly promoted Burnley that are worth taking on free transfers. CJ Egan-Riley has been a near ever present in the Championship’s best defence that has conceded just 15 goals all season. He’s only 22, and he should become Keane’s replacement imo.

The other player is Josh Brownhill. He has 16 goals from central midfield in a side that has only scored 61 goals in total. That’s pretty much 25 percent of all Burnley’s goals… from one player… from central midfield!

None of our current central midfielders would get anywhere near that type of return in the Championship imo, and if he had a sexier name people would be wanting to drop 20 million on him, but my understanding is that he’s available for free!

I know Brownhill is 29, but we have a need to bring in a lot of players, and Armstrong, Iroegbunem and possibly Alcaraz are all young and coming through anyway.

I’d say he’s better than most of our current central midfielders and that he should be brought in if he’s available for free.
