Summer Transfer Window 2025 Thread

I’d take Richi but he’s really a player for a 4-3-3, which we don’t play.

But then we signed McNeil when we were playing that formation which didn’t suit him either..

Some joined up thinking would be good though.

He played here with 10s before if im remembering right mate.

Also think we could play him at 9, he might be Doms replacement.

I don't know if there's maybe two different arguments going on here? We could definitely do with an injection of pace, but you don't have to be fast to play in the PL. I'd also agree that what we need more than anything is actual footballing ability. Things like raw pace and brute strength are effectively workarounds for when you don't have much in the way of ability - you open the game up by someone just beating their man for speed or being a battering ram, rather than through technical ability. We've been so starved of technical ability that people have become obsessed with the physical attributes being the thing we're lacking, but more than anything we're absolutely crying out for people who can look after the ball properly and find the right pass at the right time.

I think TFG might do it if im honest mate - same way they went for Rom at Roma.

Would be a PR "we're here and we get you" feel good signing.

It gets the whole fanbase onside immediately.

Even the Logans Run lids would start of posts with "I like Richy but"..........
It really wouldn't, quite the opposite in a lot of ways I'd say.

Not good ones that would improve us
James was not good so guess you don't want anyone like him.

Other players I wouldn't call explosively fast so guess you wouldn't take someone like them (age withstanding): Christian Eriksen, Bernardo Silva, Kevin De Bruyne, Bruno Fernandes. 25-year old Kevin de Bruyne? Nah, too slow, wouldn't improve us.

Richarlison clearly is better and more clinical than anything we have currently, but he’s injury prone and we probably broke him in the first place,
I wouldn’t be opposed if the price was right and there was another striker brought in as first choice,
I’d bomb Beto and DCL out for the mad Brazilian.

I just do not see him in a moyes side nor us paying what Levy would try and squeeze out of us tbh

He’s not that injury prone
87 games in just short of three seasons with most of them coming in the league whilst he’s been competing with players like Son, Kulusevski, Kane etc is pretty decent!

I’d love a number nine who could play 30 games for us and score one in three and just so happens to be a massive blue and huge positive influence in the dressing room!

Prime Kevin De Bruyne was rapid. Bruno Fernandes is pretty quick.

We just need players who are quick enough, they don’t have to be lightning, but it’s the cumulative effect of all the players in how they can close distances when pressing etc.

There’s too many slow players at Everton. Buying one lightning quick winger doesn’t change that. We need to improve the mobility and speed of the entire team so we can play higher lines, press higher, and squeeze space in midfield better. Our players would then appear quicker having less distance to cover. Now we’re watching slow players trying to cover massive gaps between attack midfield and defence. When we close the gaps it means everyone just sitting deep. Until we get enough pace in the back 4 to bring that defensive line higher that’s not going to change.
