Summer Transfer Window 2025 Thread

Moyes talks about a quality stadium for quality players, if he goes for Longstaff, that will be embarrassing from Moyes, we need a starter in midfield, not paying out money for a 28 yr old journeyman.
I will lose my head if we get a few cast offs from the top 6/8
Far from a journeyman is Longstaff but ya it would be totally underwhelming to bring in the likes of him in the summer. Would have made peace with it if the club brought him in for some psr deal for DCL in January but that ship has sailed

That's roughly the average salary in PL these days. But it's obviously distorted because top clubs pay such high salaries that if you remove those, for the other clubs that would be above average.

I don’t think it is mate

We have been dog turd for years and I’d say 3/4 of our players were
Not sure about that, my argument would be that if we would attract Lukaku, who is on £240k a week, he would improve us more than 4 Mykolenko's

The problem would be is being able to pull in a player who's wages would be £240k, we would probably pay over the odds on a lesser player to bring them here

Look at the improvement when we signed James ….

There is a reason that these players cost so much money … because they make a massive difference .

If we signed isak for example … we would be climbing up the league and if he stayed fit we’d be going for Europe .

Obviously we aren’t getting him … but I agree that signing 4-5 50k a week players does not get you into the top 6-7…. You need quality to be consistent enough to do that…. Or an amazing scouting network

I’d be looking at Hwang Hee-chan on the cheap from Wolves when Vitor takes them down.

Knows where the goal is given half a chance, and it’s always good to have at least one big Hwang in the squad

We are probably going to need to sign at least half a dozen players(maybe more) who can more or less contribute to the squad immediately.
We will not be able to spend significant amounts on all of these.
There will be players signed who are free transfers or maybe with no more than twelve months on their contracts who have already played premiership football.
The low fee for Alcaraz makes him a likely signing(apart altogether from his huge potential), Longstaff, Brownhill and players of that ilk will arrive with I feel maybe three or four players for good sized fees who should radically improve the team.

Seems pretty obvious we won't be able to cover all areas in one window. I feel sorry for whoever is in charge of transfers in summer. They'll get crucified for whichever area we end up short in
I think will try get alot of it done ofc will see players like obrien being used cb/ rb but do feel we will moyes will look to bring in alot. Same in other positions could see one striker come in then another come in who can play cf and out wide
