Summer Transfer Window 2025 Thread

Bad example to use Harry Kane here - he was pretty poor during his four lower league loans, barely scoring. Used them for development, got a chance in the PL. Hey presto, banging in goals for the rest of his career.
I’m talking about Harry Kane now though. People are discussing us having “no chance” of signing a player who is getting relegated and had one half decent season in the top flight. I’m simply saying it’s not a world class star that’s pure fantasy. It’s a pretty poor example you’re using also. Not many end up like Harry Kane! Can’t believe so many are completely dismissive of our chances of signing him. I remain sceptical that the likes of Manchester United and Chelsea want him. Let’s see.

Eh? Again, bad examples.

If the point you are trying to make is about the top clubs not wanting him (which, I'm sure they will as there is a huge shortage of strikers and loads of clubs want/need one), well Utd are toilet and have spent £110m on Zirkzee and Højlund and they are terrible. Chelsea literally sign any talented young player they can, regardless of whether or not they will play them.

…I think it was Mark Lawrenson at the time said Moyes would ask who’s the best young Championship RB and was told about John Stones. I think Moyes and Lawrenson were buddies because of their Preston connection.

Mark wouldn't have that knowledge.

Given that Thelwell will no longer be around to get moist about Gnonto, I think it’s fair to say that ship has finally sailed and there will be no chance of him rocking up at Bramley Moore. 1st window we’ve had in years to finally get that wide right position sorted so I’d hope Moyes is aware of exactly what we need out there

Im wondering why posters believe Moyes has any clue regarding recruitment...

Well if we are getting this Leeds director of football I would say Gnoto is far from over.

….substitute again last night in another key Championship game might be a reason. I’m not a fan of Dan James but he’s easily the most effective wide player at Leeds.
Aye, he's great in the Championship but proven crap in the Premier League. Leeds are straight back down if he's their first choice next season.
