I honestly believe there is genuine interest in Shaqiri, I know the original article did come from the Daily Mail who aren't always the most reliable but they were the first ones to break the news of signing Del at such a low cut fee. They do deserve some credit. We've been linked with him previously, especially quite a bit last season and it would fit in with the Belgium guys reporting that we have other targets on top of Mertens.

We will find out in the next 24-48 hours if we're interested or not if there's ever a time to bid for him it has to be now.

The May accounts are out? I suggest that accounting-wise (ie incl amortisation of assets), Everton had maybe a 5 mio quid profit to May 2015. Cash wise however, our bank balance/net debt position probably improved 15-20 million or so. I reckon RM has 10 mio to work with...and up to 20 if he sells.
