Barca don't rate him anymore, their manager said negative things about him before sending him out on loan, his loan at Sevilla was bellow average

So all in all, 3M is very logical

I thought it might be as low as 6m and maybe lower if you look at past history of Barca rejects but still. Would be cartwheeling if true.

Article also states Hammers want to sign Cabaye from Newcastle. If they send their delegation there, it should leave us enough time to get the Payet deal done and dusted.

i remember spurs getting giovanni dos santos for £4.9m when he was really highly rated. turned out to be a bad bit of business but i suppose barca don't really need the money. dela is obviously quite talented - he's not done anything largely significant in his career, but shouldn't be valued that low. as if barca need the money though.

Exactly It's the fact they don't need the money. These are academy players and they want to find them a good club where they also want to go to. A few mil is peanuts to them.

Bojan had a buyback too. I think that's what Deulofeu will have and if so 3m is about right. They never use their buybacks.

I've mentioned it before and I know it was a defeat but the Fulham game away in the league cup, the first 45 minutes he was superb, frightening -like an even fast version of Kanchelskis. I would take that all day every day for 8m+ let alone 3m.

He was frightening before his injury. Not quite the same after but he's had a long time now to get back to normal.

Lennon's work rate was 10 times better...with the same pace.

Lennon's close control wasn't near as good as Deulofeu plus Lennon won't get better. Deulofeu is 21 with still very limited experience. His potential could be huge.

Del Boy had an amazing impact on Martinez first season and was a major reason we got 5th. He has 1 thing we don't have and that the ability to go round players. 3mil if true is a steal for him. Cheaper and younger than Lennon, no brainer

If we get Deulofeu for £3m there will probably be a low buy-back clause... I'd rather see us pay a bit more and not have to worry about Barca buying him back for less than what his value would be if he has a great season.

I don't think they give that option. This way it suits all parties. We get the player, Barca's board have a bit of political cover for selling one of their own (I honestly don't think they really think there's a chance of using the buyback) and the player goes to the club he wants.

if this is true I forgive Martinez for a shocking season, to get deulofeu for £3m is a bargain, I know it will include a buy back and will include more payments depending on performances but still!
