I am watching Newcastle game now and Pardew has Gosling playing instead of Ben Arfa, I for one would welcome Ben Arfa to our RW - he has a fantastic left foot.

Fer/Delph/Banega. Any of these would be excellent. Fer would definitely offer some steel and he is a bit of a unit. Banega arguably one of the most talented centre mids in Europe just a bit of a fruit and Delph is only going to get better and he has a bit of snide in him.

boyhood blue David Nugent is on a free in the summer, top scorer at Leicester would he be worth a dabble as our third choice striker, that's assuming we have a second choice striker by then.

Connor Wickham? Not seen much of him but in the 45 mins I have here for Sunderland v Chelsea he looks a real handful.

The Mrs dad is a Sheffield Wednesday fan and apparently for them he was very good.

Should they go down he might be available for reasonable money as an understudy for Kone and (hopefully) Lukaku

Two totally different propositions. Nugent isn't going to get any better, Wickham is still young and raw and obviously has potential or Sunderland wouldn't have given so much money for him.

Regarding your top 5 comment, unfortunately we don't have the transfer kitty or wage structure of a top 5 club which is why we have had to be creative in the past and we will continue to have to in order to gate crash against the financial giants at the top...... FFS!!!!!!!

Wickham is absolute tosh mate, he's third choice behind Fletcher and Altidore.
