We don't want to end up with any Bergkamp or Henry types in our club thank you very much!
And God forbid we drop Distin for some French centre back.
Good heavens, no!

If people are from the same country as each other it doesn't mean they all act in the same way. What a bizarre way to judge a player!
Some of the best players this league has seen have been French and Dutch!

Shamefully have to admit, that as a Dutchie myself I have to agree to these sentiments. I'm always very cautious when Everton are linked with or signing a countryman of mine. For every Bergkamp there is a Van der Meyde, Drenthe, Babel or Bogarde.Mate the past 7-8 years the best Dutch and French players have been stuck somewhere between the flakes and the looking to constantly move to a better deal, loyalty and commitment to the team don't factor as high as getting their next big move usually and can count on one hand the number of 'best players' in the list over that time frame who are from either of those countries
But if you believe the fact that their national teams are renowned over recent years for complete meltdowns, in fighting and insubordination doesn't highlight a problem with players from their then thats your call

It has to come down to the quality of the individual player. There just haven't been many top players from those countries playing here. Do you think someone like Sneijder would have struggled? Just because Newcastle have signed about 20 rubbish French players doesn't mean they're all bad. Cabaye managed okay.Mate the past 7-8 years the best Dutch and French players have been stuck somewhere between the flakes and the looking to constantly move to a better deal, loyalty and commitment to the team don't factor as high as getting their next big move usually and can count on one hand the number of 'best players' in the list over that time frame who are from either of those countries

I get the impression that most people won't be happy until we've clogged up the squad with some right old journeymen sh*te.
We are between Arsenal and Spus in the table and need to be signing the sort of players that you imagine they would be after.
