If people are from the same country as each other it doesn't mean they all act in the same way. What a bizarre way to judge a player!

Some of the best players this league has seen have been French and Dutch!

Mate the past 7-8 years the best Dutch and French players have been stuck somewhere between the flakes and the looking to constantly move to a better deal, loyalty and commitment to the team don't factor as high as getting their next big move usually and can count on one hand the number of 'best players' in the list over that time frame who are from either of those countries

But if you believe the fact that their national teams are renowned over recent years for complete meltdowns, in fighting and insubordination doesn't highlight a problem with players from their then thats your call

We don't want to end up with any Bergkamp or Henry types in our club thank you very much!

And God forbid we drop Distin for some French centre back.

As i said 'not since the Arsenal lot' mate in my post originally bit of a daft comment by ya really, but by all means list a host of greatly adapted french and dutch players who've arrived in this league the past 6-7 years?

The majority of our cash needs to be spent in the final third of the pitch; top class number 10 and striker. Deigo looks to be out of contract and he was a cracking player from what i've seen of him over his time in Spain and Germany. People mention Tadic, never seen him play but by the sounds of the reviews he seems to be a real talent.

Del back on loan is a no brainer for me; regardless of his lack of experience the lad has the ability to change a game, and tmes this is needed, its just knowing what games he can influence. Martinez did quite a good job of this this year.

I'd like us to get Barry, with this we'll need another player of his capability to allow for rotation, so I'd love to see someone like Cambiasso as well. I think there position experience counts more than age. 2 players of McCarthy, Gibson and possibly Cambiasso and Barry fighting for 2 places gives us great strength.

Another centre back is a must; i hate Alcarez, so possibly 2. Experience and another youngster with potential.

Shamefully have to admit, that as a Dutchie myself I have to agree to these sentiments. I'm always very cautious when Everton are linked with or signing a countryman of mine. For every Bergkamp there is a Van der Meyde, Drenthe, Babel or Bogarde.

It's a weird thing mate, maybe requires the right manager with the right players to make it work as of all the managers i can only really think of Wenger who has done it with the French and Dutch players with any form of consistency, can't figure what it's down to but Holland especially seems to top everywhere else for the past 10 years on very highly touted players who never reach close to their potential

It has to come down to the quality of the individual player. There just haven't been many top players from those countries playing here. Do you think someone like Sneijder would have struggled? Just because Newcastle have signed about 20 rubbish French players doesn't mean they're all bad. Cabaye managed okay.

I get the impression that most people won't be happy until we've clogged up the squad with some right old journeymen sh*te.

We are between Arsenal and Spus in the table and need to be signing the sort of players that you imagine they would be after.

Yeah mate we really need to start buying sheer quality now, this quantity over quality remark has got me real worried now

Yep. I wouldn't mind that Ribery fella like.

The one thing that is for sure that this summer will be make or break for RM imo, if he nails it with European football we could attract some very good players who alongside the current squad could really push us forward but if he signs a few duds we could end up with the 7th place trophy next season

like has been said just want quality over quantity, would rather 1-2 quality additions say Lukaku and Tadic with Barry on a free and 1-2 loans than Lukaku and then 3-4 duds like Rodwell, Colback and Powell etc.
