We need more Everton fans, hopefully we buy Holtby as I hear he's a Everton fan that likes Arsenal's style of play.

Why three at the back? And you replace McCarthy with Rodwell!?

We could rotate between Richards and Coleman, I've a worry that Coleman will be over played next season or we could mix it up, the 3 at the back will make us more solid defensively and let our full backs press further up the pitch.

We tended to leak goals when playing three CB this season although we probably used the formation for only a few times.

Did Wigan have players as good as Distin, Jags, Stones, Baines, Coleman or Barry to do the dirty work?


Edit: not saying we play it all the time, just when the opposition try to dominate the middle of the park.

No, but the experiment was tried wasn't it? BTW he did have McC there to name one of a few who are now at Everton.

Think an issue with three at the back is how much it negates our wingers, which for me after J mc and Barry has been the biggest plus ages since we've had this much pace.

Or Roberto hates him, hears Brendan's into him, and drives up the price. In the podcast recently, he said he has 100 targets or so, I trust him to get who he wants.

Hopefuls :-
Lescott - left footed, free transfer, knows the club and more importantly Jagielka. Great scoring record for us as well from CB no less.
Diame - £3.5mill buyout clause, knows our brown moccasined mastermind, athletic, run all day closer downer.
Barry - Great season for us on loan, free transfer.
Lukaku - big player, big talent, bigger transfer fee. And we cant tempt him with CL football. Difficult.
Bony - very little chance with this lad, scored some fine goals in a fairly poor Swansea side in disarray. Great header of the ball - awesome target man for wide players. Difficult.

No idea on Traore or Deloufeu. Would be disinclined to shed a tear if Robles went the same way as Ian Turner/Richy Wright tbh. Wouldn't be heartbroken to let Alcaraz further his craft elsewhere either. Not sure Hibbert will make a full recovery now. End of an era right there. Is Pienaar permanently crocked now?

I cannot remember an end of season/up coming summer where the squad has been so well rounded and where every position is covered to the extent where potential upgrades being considered are marginal (in most cases) where it seems we dont have our backs to the wall to sell anyone, and that the squad as is, is happy, settled and some are off to the WC.

In all honesty, how much business will be done before compared to after the WC? Who will be the self proclaimed 'top 3 player in the world' Diouf this time round. Tune in September deadline for these and a lot more answers.

Are you sure CBs are allowed to score? I can't remember them allowing them to do that lately.

Though I don't think Roberto will go for him for all reasons Browning, I would have him back in a heartbeat. Better than Alcaraz, and Distin can't be this good forever...can he?

I'm doing a bit of Fifa 14 in my head, but what would you guys say if we robbed City's reserves by bringing in Lescott, Richards and Rodwell? No fancy players, but they can all do a defensive job very capably.
