I sometimes take a glance at other clubs forums and i've never known a club to big up their own crowds as much as Sunderland on that Ready To Go site. Don't get me wrong, that 46,000 the other day was a great turnout but a lot of your fans must be up there with the most blinkered when it comes to your support. There seems to be a fixation with labelling Sunderland the best fans in the world, and claiming no one else could match them in the circumstances.

Last season, albeit during a terrible season, your away support was down massively. Think you lot averaged about the 10th highest away crowds in the Football League, below Blackburn Rovers who were in the Division below. So all this "we've got the most loyal supporters" in the whole of England doesn't stack up. I appreciate you were going through turmoil but clubs with way bigger recent highs than Sunderland have fallen that low in the last 20-30 years, Leeds, Blackburn themselves for example. Both Title Winners in the 1990s.

I have always rated your support and liked Sunderland as a club but think you lot need to get back in the Premier League and focus on being the big club you should be on the pitch, and forget about winning these attendance battles.

They tell lots of lies about their attendance, this is very true. They are also a very disloyal bunch, there are stories about some of their number switching alleigance and supporting Newcastle, disgusting really, and HUGE if true.

I agree. And since I'm not 5 year old I couldn't really care less about attendances. Seems to be a modern thing, don't remember it being that much of a big deal when I was growing up. I go to matches as I like football and can afford to. I don't go away anymore as a lot of the fans are arseholes.

Was 46k a good crowd, of course it was. But, I don't really care. Was more bothered about the 3 points, but also don't forget for some fans all they have is attendances (mags are the same).

I find it quite sad. I don't care if we get 10k, 30k or 46k. I'm a sunderland fan through birth and no amount of my club is bigger than your club will change that.

I like Sunderland but their fans are terrible at what you’ve pointed out. That Boxing Day crowd was very good but other clubs could match it in their position and with the deals and promoting that game in particular had. The 7600 at Blackpool NYD is brilliant, but not even half of them would have gone last season. It’s worth pointing out we sold out 5600 for Preston the other day without it making general sale. We’d have taken 7500 to Preston if the allocation was there.

Geordie behaviour. Ironic really.

Yet you still felt the need to reply. Being a WUM in a Sunderland thread on an Everton forum. A psychiatrist would enjoy analysing you.

You've been assimilated by the headpatters. Ask yourself this; why would any everton fan care about their junior competition results?

No real Everton fan would. Why is there even a Sunderland thread? We don't (rightly) have a thread for every other club and when we do, it is usually to mock them. We can therefore do the same with that cesspit
