Sunderland afc

Rick Parry has proposed a transfer cap for L1 and L2. Capped at £2.5m or something like that.

This is incredible. It would stop clubs (like Sunderland) trying to financially dope their way out of the division (biggest wage bill, highest transfer paid etc. Etc.)

They've butchered their youth setup so can't rely on this either once all their remaining pros take flight to non-capped leagues.

Sobbing. If they dont get promoted this season they might go under.

Imagine if Jack was still there trousering his wedge for doing nothing.

Now that would have been incredible.

Methven on BBC radio this morning asking for a publicly-funded bailout. Then us taxpayers would "own" a bit of the club.

God I hope this happens. Imagine giving me a bit of Sunderland Bleach Injecting Headpatter Brexit FC. My victory would be absolute.

Ha.
Was that him !
I only heard the sound bites later on and missed who said it.
It was straight after the main news where they were talking about how many billions the country was spending on furlough, and then this fella piped up asking for lower league clubs to be bailed out.

It was indeed Mr Charlie. He genuinely wants to have taxpayer money bail out Sunderland. Incredible.

City were an arse hair away from going under in 1999 - third tier, playoffs against Gillingham, 2-1 down in the 95th minute, Paul Dickov equalises. From this point they go on to become title winners and the richest club in world football.

So there's hope for Sunderland yet. De profundis.
