I think he was. He wasn't lazy - he was sloppy - there's a difference. Our play needed to go through him and after a few mistakes he failed to rectify it, so that's why Koeman changed to three wingers and we just killed them on the counter (all of our goals were on the counter pretty much).

At home it's gonna be very different.

Hope your right mate, and it's not a case of Ross's confidence being knocked after the England snub.

:(

Apparently we've got an agreement to sign in January but theres confusion whether its down on paper or just verbal knowing SAFC it'll be verbal and he'll go elsewhere ... like the Mags

Any idea why you didnt sign him in summer? Was only £6mil wasnt it? Worth it even if free in jan...would have made a huge difference.

Watmore and gooch look like good players to me, both under 21 still?

What did you think of ndong? I thought he was dreadful, was it his debut?

Just wasn't his night today. Koeman isn't doing it to punish a particular player - just to stand the best chance of winning the game.
Oh no doubt. I still think his head is elsewhere though and may not start. hopefully he'll get a kick up the 'arris this week and go on to play a blinder.

I've said it every time I've seen him to be honest - pound for pound the most overrated player in the division. He might just be unlucky in that I've only seen bad days, but I'm just not seeing what all the hype is about. You were twice the side when he went off.

Hmm, we looked very threatening as soon as Del came on though. Then I admit you collapsed.

Depends on that you mean by threatening - you've stood two floaty crosses up and we've got out of the way! Unbelievably bad defending, particularly given how comfortable we'd been previous.

He's a massive talent mate. But lacks consistency. And no matter what anyone says, unless you're world-class (Messi/Ronaldo standard) you aren't consistent at 22

The table makes for pretty sweet reading after 4 games, doesn't it? Loooong way to go yet, and we've yet to play either set of Mancs, Chelsea & Arsenal, but I am kinda regretting blocking all those Southampton trolls on Twitter now to be honest.

Tell you what, Gueye has been a better buy than any of those so-called marquee players we were after. He's everywhere, at speed, and when he's not stopping an opposition attack stone dead, he's creating something that sets our attacks on fire. Rewatch the build up to the first goal - a fairly nothing attack breaks down and he comes out of nowhere to get us straight back on it.

Loving the "no goals conceded with Ash Williams on the pitch" stat too. Long may that continue!

Can see a little bit of what the Palace fans were saying about Bolassie occasionally overdoing the tricks, but they never had Lukaku on the end of his crosses, meaning it's all worth it.

Koeman MoTM. Brave to take off Ross in the sense he takes no prisoners. Looks like we have a proper gaffer here...he is the boss. Won't accept second best and it will make or break certain players. Del offered us a great outlet in the second half. 2nd half was a joy to watch, Bolasie doing exactly what he was bought for, Lukaku getting the right service equals goals galore. Kev came out of his shell and produced a great showing. Gueye....well what can you say about him, he is everywhere and what a buy he is turning out to be. Defence conceding minimal opportunities and are now looking mean but well protected by Gueye and Barry. That Bolasie is frightening when he is one on one and if he can produce like that consistently then we have a snip at £28m. Thoroughly enjoyed that 2nd half show and we took the mickey out of them. Never seen a ground empty so quick
