A magnificent all-round performance tonight guys, plaudits to every single player, and i'm relieved to discover that Drenthe's absence was due to compassionate leave. It's hard to single out a player for MOTM but i'm going to give it jointly to Leon Osman for his industry and inventiveness, and Nikica Jelavic for the same. Jelavic needs to watch his diving and play-acting though - after what i saw tonight it's not just Drenthe who is trying to court sympathy from the ref. Additionally, Marouane Fellaini always seems a booking waiting to happen so his yellow was thoroughly deserved tonight - he really needs to stop his needling shoves and pushes. The near-riot that blew up after Phil Neville's charge was a farce though, and i thought it very unfortunate that the likes of Mageye Gueye ended up in the book - in fact, how the hell did we end up with more yellows than them at the end of the game? Special mention for Gueye actually, i'm not sure he has the same level of skill as Royston Drenthe but nevertheless looks promising on the strength of that performance. Overall, that game was a joy to watch, one of the best performances this season surely, and the team have obviously been working on their passing too - maybe some of the guys, including Moyes himself, actually read this forum!

O'Neill didn't really help himself switching Bardsley to centre-back and putting Gardner and Vaughan at fullback.

It was an interesting tactic by us to put a wall up for corners. It did get abandoned in the second half, but it shows that Moyes is getting more sophisticated with his game plans.

Brilliant. Over the moon here. We bossed the game from the off and were first to every loose ball and won most of the 50/50s. We just wanted it more than them. The attitude and application of the players was first class, evidenced by us starting the 2nd half in the same fashion. That Ossie volley if it had gone in...

Some of the football was top notch. I wouldn't single any one out for MOM because everyone of them was superb and got what they deserved - a convincing victory. Although for someone who doesn't start regularly, Gueye was excellent.

As has already been said, if we play like that against the Devil's XI at Wembley we will win, although history would suggest otherwise. They were poor against Cardiff so there is no earthly reason why we can't do them. The important word there being earthly. The next 2 weeks are going to be exciting now as the build-up gathers momentum. Can't wait - bring it on.

WE'RE ON THE MARCH...

Criminally overlooked, especially by the pundits. The last two games we have played some scintillating stuff imo. They hoofed all game and we took the piss as a result.

For all the doom and gloom this is a very good side, Jelly has for the time being put a plug in our one big fat weakness (and made Cahill better). We'd be ahead of NUFC if we had him in Sept.

Can we seriously talk about him today? He looked 10 years younger. Vest, vim, vigor. Where the hell did that come from?
