Their support seems to be one big competition to see who can be the scousiest non-scouser.

As as outsider I see it purely as an LFC thing. Their fans are always coming out with "Scouse not English" I can honestly say I have never noticed anyone on here spouting the same.

I'm from Liverpool, grew up in Fazakerley. Never played on the scouse narrative or wore it a a badge of honour, anyone asks I'm just from Liverpool.

None of this Scouse not English rubbish.

Although when I'm travelling or working away I do drop in that all scousers support Everton, so I'm playing my part in building a narrative outside the City, that we are all Evertonians who live here.

Scouse, but don’t understand the weird emergence over the last 4-5 years where younger lads are uprising singing songs about Thatcher, and trying to prove how scouse the are by singing Anti-Tory songs.

You can hate the Tories and still have a personality. Likewise with this thing where people try to “out scouse” each other.

You can be proud to be scouse, without the need to call someone a Wool if they’re from slightly further away from the centre.
