Well, i only managed to watch the last 20 minutes or so of both halves. I say 'watch' but due to a truly appalling Flash stream (couldn't find a Sopcast Stream) i probably saw nearer to 10 minutes of each. I can't really award a MOTM on the basis of that but Baines and Pienaar obviously stood out. If only we were as strong going down the right flank too. An impressive second half performance though, from what i saw, i was worried we'd lose this one with Swansea's form.

Where was Drenthe? Being rested i hope, rather than having fallen foul of the manager.

Amazing that the RS lost to Wigan at home - we're now only 2 points behind them. Tbh i think RS are overrated anyway. They never deserved to win the Carling Cup, Cardiff were the better of two poor teams, and actually took the better penalties in the shoot-out, but then RS have always been lucky with the breaks.

Part one complete, well in blues.

As well as I've seen us play away from home for a long, long time that. Particularly in the second half. Pienaar will be a big miss for the cup replay, he was outstanding today.

Lots of good performances right throughout, I got it wrong criticising the starting eleven without doubt. Jagielka kept us in the game by half time, brilliant first half from him. Tell you who really started to impress me today though, Darron Gibson. Works hard and uses the ball very well.

Now get into the mackems on Tuesday like that.

Principle of what ? We wouldn't pay him what he clearly deserved, and he's still showing that now.

You honestly don't think he deserved parity with Arteta ?

Yes, but we couldnt offer that with Heitinga, Saha, Arteta all on 60k+ a week.

He wanted to move, dont forget that. His move hasnt worked out so he's gonna come crawling back, accepting less money he's on at Spurs (he turned Chelsea down because of his wages) to play for us?

Then there's the transfer fee. He's on a 3 year contract or something so they'll want at least £5million for him.

Which will mean, as usual, players going out and a chunk of the transfer fee on a player who's 30.

Then there's the 'Arry effect. He'll get the England job and Spurs will get a new manager. He may want to stay and prove himself.

Great performance second half. Pienaar looked like Iniesta. Just gutted he's cup tied*

Good to go into the replay on the back of a performance like that. We will have to work harder than that on Tuesday though.

*Fume at this rule.

Good Lord, some of that was absolutely superb football. Genuinely none of our opponents this season have done that. I want to say, Gibson really impressed me. He is not scared of a through ball at all. They didn't all come off but he really does look decent even if he's not got Felli's quality. And you just know he'll score many a belter here. He'll be an absolute steal.

Oh Brian. Words can't even describe the calibre of fail you have graced this place with. He should be a forum legend for that.

Well played today, Moyes. I will ALWAYS give credit where due and he put out the team that absolutely raped a very decent side today AND we are fully fit and full of confidence for Tuesday. For all that was so shockingly wrong with last weeks calamities, and deespite the fact I was stunned at this line-up, he got this 100% correct. Well done. Best footballing performance of the season so far. Sheer class. I am absolutely made up.

Pienaar was awesome 2nd half. He'll be sorely missed on Tuesday but the confidence we'll gain from today could be the biggest factor. Oh and Liverpool lost to f*cking Wigan at home. Dangerously close to being a fantastic weekend of football.

I'm just speechless that you wouldn't want him. This discussion has been had time and time again and it's been said by most that he was pretty justified in leaving. He wasn't to know he'd be bench warming, and he wanted a fair wage and european football. If we couldn't pay it because we were giving Saha £60k a week than that is our problem, not his.

We offered Pienaar parity with Saha on 62k a week. He turned his nose up at it.

Only team in the Prem to go to Swansea and have more possession and shots on target

I didnt want him to go. But the ****house board didnt want to pay him what HE wanted. Chelsea didnt either.

And he shouldve known he wouldnt get a sniff over Bale, Modric, Van Der Vaart etc.

So you'd want us to pay up to £5million to get him back? 30 years old. No resale value. 2 season at the most out of him.Thinking about it logically, its not financially worth it IMO unless Spurs give us him back for the same or a little bit more than what we sold him for. Which wont happen.Need to move on and try something new.
