I am often critical of Mirallas, but I think he got sent off today for trying to do the very thing we ask of our players.

He wanted to be involved , he wanted to do something for the team, something that would make his manager notice him.

Disappointing, but no blame.

He must be kicking himself tonight. Or, stamping, rather.

Seriously though, he must really annoy himself sometimes.

Sorry for him myself. He should have come on sooner for Lukaku today. Romel had one of those foreigner cold as ice days. Heres hoping next Monday night against the baggies he is on song.

Sing it Lou.

The morning-after feeling is not so bad. The blues really dominated that game and few teams get much at Swansea.

The defence was the tops and the midfield worked hard and Barkley especially was inventive. I wish though he did'nt always slow things down and sometimes played first timers or took a poke. Galloway is the biz at left back. And I was happy with Browning until he tired. He is fast, athletic and I think right back is his position. Jags and Stones had Gomes and their attack in their back pocket. Even Howard looked really secure apart from some dodgy distribution.

It is upfront that RM has to get the right balance. Del Boy is a must play for me. How about playing Lukaku for 70 mins and when he starts to tire then bring on Kone?. Ditto for Naismith for Miralles ( after the suspension)?

Swansea are in form, an away draw isn't the end of the world.

At a quick glance maybe not, but then I was brought up on the old mantra 'Win at home, draw away and that's the league sorted' 21x2=42+21x1=21 =63Pts. not very often, if at all, that didn't win you the title.

With 3 for a win, more often than not it's us 'losing' 2 rather than being happy with 1.

could haves-would haves-should haves bites us in the bum

poor finishing
the timing of Subs

with the added 'bonus' of Kev being a dill

all in all a large dollop of...'After the Lord Mayors coach comes the manure cart'

I think this is one of overlooked parts of game now. Three points for a win was brought in to open the game up and generally worked but you do see managers and maybe fans who still haven't adjusted. Win nine of your away games and lose the rest still gets you eight more points.
Possible expectations at some clubs are never to lose and maybe some teams fans are more forgiving of a big away defeat.
Having said all that. Good draw i thought

I know Lukaku had a stinker but how have the Echo rated both Lukaku and Mirallas a 5/10 for their performance. Lukakus performance didn't see him on the pitch for 2 minutes and get himself a 3 game ban last time I checked haha

With Del on the right firing low crosses across the 6 yard box and Barkley doing the same from the left, more often than not you would expect one to get knocked in. Not sure how Kone managed to completely miss his chance from that.

Moyes made last minute subs to wind down the clock all the time, I don't know what you're talking about mate.
It wasn't a situation where we needed to wind the clock down though as we were the better team and was pushing for the win. That sub would have been perfectly understandable had we been winning 1-0 but not in the situation we were in yesterday

I remember he did it one day in injury time and we leading either 1-0 or 2-1 versus City at home.

A totally pointless sub and they equalised just after the allotted added time was up, but during the extra thirty seconds or whatever the ref adds on for a sub.

I can never understand why teams use substitutions to "run down the clock" late in games. It just seems pointless to me as the ref will always add a bit more time on.

Just get the ball and run it into a corner......nine times out of ten a desperate opposition player will foul your player and you will have a free kick to just retain possession and run the clock down naturally with no added add ons :(
