Stupid imported finger thing.
What's wrong with the old fashioned British V sign.
And of course I mean the back of the hand one, not that modern clenched fist front of the hand one.
'Spectateur' is an import of sorts no?

I suspect that the amount of proper swearing at Goodison was significantly increased both in volume and crudity since I started going again from the Villa game. I can't help it. I blame Everton

My first ST, I was in the third row of the paddock. Every game this arl fella was late to his seat, always took ages to shuffle in, grumbled at everyone who made way for him. Playing Blackburn one time, as he got to his seat Robbie Savage was right in front of him taking a throw in. Fella looks up and loudly shouts "Savage you 'orrible bast'd", folds his arms and sits down.

Riotous laughter and a crestfallen Robbie Savage.

Beautiful moment.

Its about context. (I think) I take my wife and three kids and swear, angrily and loudly sometimes.
What I don't like is the constant abuse that and drivel some fans come out with. On Sunday I was sat next to a young woman who was with her grandad. She was delightful, everyone was a effing c work, if a spurs player was injured she wanted the effer to die. She just sounded stupid my teenage daughters were embarrassed for her. We had a similar experience at the Peterborough game, three blokes in their 50's exactly the same, clowns.

I'm sorry but its inevitable that you're gonna get a lot of swearing at the football. Tens of thousands of working class men (and woman because they swear too lol) who've more often then not, have had a drink or two are gonna use some colourful language. If that's not for you, then I don't think footie in general is either. That being said, some idiots do need to calm down at the match, its not what they say, its how they say it. Swearing in itself isn't the problem, its the grown 'kin men who keep losing their mind, spraying spit and oozing venom in every single word and practically wishing death on everyone they're annoyed with that second. Its not even once in a while either, this kind of fella does this all the time. That isn't passion, its cringeworthy behaviour and we could well do without it.
