The T20 World Cup starts on Sunday :




Group stage
Group A - India, Pakistan, Ireland, Canada, USA
Group B - England, Australia, Namibia, Scotland, Oman
Group C - New Zealand, West Indies, Afghanistan, Uganda, Papua New Guinea
Group D - South Africa, Sri Lanka, Bangladesh, Netherlands, Nepal

The top two teams in each group will advance to the Super 8s stage, with the top two in each Super 8s pools then reaching the semi-finals.

The betting has India favourites, followed by Australia, England and South Africa.

I would imagine we won't be seeing monster scores if the Caribbean wickets are still low and slow. Although they are diddy grounds by and large so there could be some high totals. England, if they recover their mojo, has a good a chance as anyone, but never discount New Zealand, as they always are, to provide a shock.
 
I can see some big scores in the tournament. The grounds are only small for the most part.

The US wickets will probably be batters paradise. Generally these temporary wickets are hard and true.

USA playing Canada in Dallas at a Cricket World Cup. Who’d have thunk it?

Except they were the first to hold an international cricket match in 1844 … albeit most of the two sides were made up of Brits.


Anyhow, my money is on the West Indies to win it. Home advantage and cricket needs a strong and vibrant WI
 
What a pitiful crowd at Guyana for the Windies opener.

I absolutely love the Caribbean, it's a must visit holiday for me every January but the level of apathy for the competition shown in Guyana causes you to question whether the Windies should have had the honour of co hosting
