Is this us? Is this SD until he's sacked?

Why do managers stubbornly stick with a formation and game plan that is obviously not working? Surely, any top-flight manager should be good enough to adapt and change as things begin to unravel; for months, we've watched this side get worse and worse to the point we're going into our next game against Burnley at home and genuinely don't feel confident of a win.

Is the man that one dimensional that he doesn't have the knowledge or man management skills to make tough decisions to try and turn around this absolute disaster of a run

“The definition of insanity is doing the same thing over and over and expecting different results.”

I think this is a bit harsh. Dyche came in having famously stuck with 442. Under us he's adapted to our players and the best style of play for us and now plays 4411, which i think we will all agree is completely different.

….i like the tactics, Dyche has set us up very well.

We defend well and create chances. Nothing wrong with tactics, it’s the lack of quality that’s the issue.
Exactly.

It's the best we've played since the first 4 months of Ancelotti. (a low bar, granted.)

Dyche has us set up creating a load of chances and until a few games back we had a very solid back line. It's hardly his fault we lack quality/confidence up top.

People thinking we'll improve dramatically after sacking Dyche need your famous Football for Dummies boom.

…..here you go, Matey, for the ante-Dyche brigade ;)

I remember the days when Everton were known for quality football, when being an Everton supporter imparted a certain swagger a sense of pride .
Now good Evertonians mock their fellow fans who still aspire to watching good brave football and attempt to glorify and justify a second rate manager and his negative, limited football .
Saddens me a lot .
We deserve the irrelevance we have achieved.

He's a crap manager, with a crap squad, at a craply run club. I'd say he's doing as expected, but he's what we deserve unfortunately. The days of Everton employing ambitious up and coming managers are well in the past.
It's the result of 10+ years of failure on and of the pitch.

I think we invite way too much pressure on ourselves defending set pieces but apart from that the style of football isn't the issue - imo. It's about players staying fully focused to put away these easier chances.

You don't expect to score every one but there is at least 10 chances where you think how have they missed that, and with those 10 goals would we even be having this conversation.

We invite too much pressure on ourselves by surrendering the ball and refusing to compete.
Cowardly football deserves nothing.
Our viewing figures must be atrocious , the only people who would choose to watch Everton are Evertonians and most of us attend the games anyway.

Imagine watching great everton teams, then saying you enjoy watching this
Only so many of us have been privileged to see that, lifting trophies left right and centre, honestly feel sorry for those who haven’t yet dedicated so much of their time to go home / away or plan their weekend around our fixtures.
