Remember that team of the 80’s and going to a game and expecting to win no matter who we were playing.

We now have fans who see a draw against the likes of Fulham, Brighton etc as a good point.
It's not really our fault though is it? If anything you should pity the newer generations, you lot at least got to see when Everton were genuinely good. Best I have seen is us finish 4th with Marcus Bent.

We invite too much pressure on ourselves by surrendering the ball and refusing to compete.
Cowardly football deserves nothing.
Our viewing figures must be atrocious , the only people who would choose to watch Everton are Evertonians and most of us attend the games anyway.

That would be all well and good but when we played it around under several managers all we did was give away possession, a lot closer to our goal or our midfield would be MIA leading to chances for them and we didn't create any chances for ourselves anyhow.

When I say I'm ok with how we play that's based on winning games of football by taking those chances. Then would you care? To play better football just needs the confidence of getting those wins so it leaves the players freer to express themselves. At the moment we are stuck in this vicious cycle, but just before Christmas we actually had it go our way and the players did seem to be playing an okay brand of football.

Anyone who has seen great Everton team knows it starts from building often in our history from a very low base, with hard work, good foundations and character and mentality, it was always a incremental building process and never an event.

These days, lads would be caught with their pants down posting Kendal out threads, sporting Gary O Neill or back the Graham Taylor tattoos.

I remember the days when Everton were known for quality football, when being an Everton supporter imparted a certain swagger a sense of pride .
Now good Evertonians mock their fellow fans who still aspire to watching good brave football and attempt to glorify and justify a second rate manager and his negative, limited football .
Saddens me a lot .
We deserve the irrelevance we have achieved.
Believe me, I remember those days too.

We don't have the players to play that football, we'll have even less chance to play that way next season when we sell Onana and Branthwaite.

Lampard tried playing football beyond the players abilities, that worked well.

Anyone who references our greatest teams with this mess on show knows nothing about football

Edit: have some respect for our greatest manager by actually getting his name right please

I aspire to witness a far better style of football than is currently on offer.
I want to be proud of my team.
I didn’t like Dyche’s ‘style’ at Burnley and I like it even less here .
Negative , limited and second rate .

So we surrender .
Like I say, Everton died a long time ago .
Perhaps it’s time to bury the corpse before the stink gets any worse.
At least we will have our memories.

If you’re at least trying to get the upper hand in these discussions can you please have the decency to spell Howard Kendall’s name correctly.

It’ll help give you an ounce of credibility

Ha ha, you’re not even a bit of effort mate.

I have you going around posting threads about Danny Ings and correcting my seplling, I’ve you that wound up! lol

The football we played in the 80’s under Howard was high tempo, in the face of the opposition. It wasn’t tiki taka crap.

It was mixture, you know this. He even changed how we play when he brought Lineker in, he adapted how we played to maximise Linekers blistering pace.

Howard never in a million years would accept an Everton team sit off opponents, at goodison, in the hope of snatching a win.

He would coach them and tell them it’s not what Everton do; if you lose then you lose trying and giving everything.

You can’t even tell a joke, can you??

I mean you actually think that’s serious. I think you may actually be a bot

And just in case you forgot; it’s Howard Kendall; notice the double L
