Are people seriously considering news from the Daily Mail as reliable?

More than it's Matt Lawton.

Even the worst papers can be hit and miss but they have writers that are to be trusted. Lawton does his work and has sources.

I said in the last thread he's not sparkling when It comes to us but if he's done his work and believes it's on, well I'm inclined to believe him.

Too bad there aren't any lumber magnates looking to expand into sport.

I wanted an Everton Russian Wooly hat...
Suppose a novelty foam Stetson is not too bad..
The Middle East headwear will be a hard one to wear the match though..

  1. A £200m buy-out of Everton by unnamed Middle Eastern buyers could be announced in the coming days according to a report on the Daily Mail's website.

MailOnline's Matt Lawton claims "exclusively" that while negotiations with John Jay Moores and Charles Noell have ended, mystery investors have stepped in and could complete a buyout of the club as early as Tuesday.

Earlier, a report in Russia that Arsenal stakeholder Alisher Usmanov was set to become Everton's new owner was rejected but rumours immediately sprung up that his long-time business partner, billionaire Farhad Moshiri, was looking at purchasing the Blues.

Iranian by birth but now resident in the UK and a British passport holder, Moshiri is believed to be worth £2bn but it's not clear at this stage whether he could be the "Middle Easterner" referred to in the Mail's story.

Their source, reputedly from within the club, apparently told the Mail that the situation was too sensitive at this stage to confirm the name of the interested party.
