Watching Raducanu at Indian Wells. From a good position she just threw away the second set by hitting the ball directly at her opponent instead of into open space either side. She did it twice.

I don't know who's coaching her nowadays but she won't beat the top players playing like that.

What Russia is doing to Ukrainians is even more utterly repulsive, and it is a crime against humanity. While it is indeed unfair to these tennis players, it is also not justified for their dictator to be invading a free nation. So unfortunately things are not fair at the moment for Russian sports people, nor for the innocent Ukrainians dying unnecessarily in Putin's war.

Sorry Sassy you’ve made no link whatsoever between Putin and those players in that argument.

They’re in an impossible situation - condemn the special operation and they may never be allowed back in the country (in the case of Medvedev) or end up totally ostracised if they’re a lesser player who relies on the government for support.

Or they don’t condemn it and they get banned anyway.

The tennis authorities have pandered to the mob here.

And the open secret that Russia has the most well oiled state sponsored PED scheme going.. I will not be too disappointed their athletes are not competing on the international stage
 
Tell yout what, Iga Swiatek is playing on another level. If she keeps this up we could see a period of relative dominance in the women's game that we haven't had sine the vacuum left at the end of Serena's dominance.

Well I follow tennis and can call myself an enthusiast but don't know much about WTA side of things...
 
Excited about upcoming Madrid Masters 1000. Rafael (LoL GOT still won't let me type R.a.f.a. hahaha, he's a different one!) said he's coming back from the injury!
