Nice to see a club like York benefiting from Premier League wealth for once, particularly in the current climate. The Premier League should be doing a lot more to help.

I remember when York were in the old 2nd division when I was a kid. York's a lovely place, too.

If there is one thing I wish was different, it would be the lack of care that the EPL gives the lower league. I think the obscene amount of money it generates, no English team should go under unless they're criminally mismanaged

Without wanting to sound incredibly cringeworthy, I and a lot of other York fans have really been taken aback by Everton fan comments on social media tonight regarding our share of the Godfrey transfer. Thank you.

I've always seen you as 'proper' and tonight has just cemented that, you may as well be a million leagues apart from where we are now but you really get it and that means a huge amount. All the best going forward, seems like you have an exciting team, be mint to see you right up there!

I grew up in the Greater Manchester area and my Dad worked with a Man United mad guy who got us some spare tickets for a certain League Cup game at Old Trafford in 1995

I went being interested to see the great Ferguson era Man United side live, but I ended up leaving thinking only of York and how great they looked on the night

Here's hoping you get to enjoy nights like that again some day (Just not against Everton )
