That ball in yesterday...

Reviewed some of the goals from yesterday. Saha obviously thriving - but thriving on improved service.

But the good thing about Saha - you gotta be there to score and the lad was totally on the ball yesterday.

However, under the radar was the way Baines and Beckford combined. That goal was probably my goal of the season, the reason being it was completely undefendable.

Baines on the ball, checks back inside two players - see's Beckford slicing the defence like a knife through butter ...

Arteta involved indirectly - he's up front! Pulling two players towards him, dragging them away from Beckford's run.

And that ball... and that finish. Absolute quality.

Between Saha and Beckford... and Baines and Billy (plus Fellaini :o) 's creativity

Its that sort of finishing we've missed this season.

So well in boys.

Stop switching off during games, aggression. Second balls. And finishing like that. You'll make Everton go places.

But that goal yesterday, for me was perfect. Undefendable.

the Rodwell pass completely split them and then the cross was absolutely right on the button, Beckford didn't even break stride it just went right on his toe, he didn't really even shoot he just ran straight onto it.

Cracking goal and it was all right in front of my seat.

Bily's nutmeg around the defender, followed by sublime pass to Saha for the first Goal was superb..

I have been pondering that exact build up with peanut on the left  not sure he could have done it giving his playing style.

We played very well offensively yesterday, quicker and sharper than usual, which is why I didn't feel too worried when it was 2-3...honest!!

I love how Beckford used the outside of his left foot and calmly put it in the bottom right corner. It was a superb finish.

Agreed mate , I said in the Beckford thread that if it was scored by Messi , Torres or Drogba , we wouldn't stop hearing about it , I have watched it about 20 times on Everton TV , It's a sublime goal and one of my favourite Everton goals along with some of the classics...

Agree with all that has been said,

on a side note, Arteta's set-pieces were a lot better yday, he is turning a corner form-wise

The goal that never was was also a cracker, great work from Coleman and a cracker finish from Saha only for freind the fiend to blow his whistle! Turnip!
