I grew up in Birkenhead and my ma would always tell me to be in by 6 otherwise the Purple Aki would get us!

But has anyone actually bumped into the fella? I know he’s real because there are a lot of YouTube videos showing him trying to squeeze muscles.

How is he still allowed to walk the streets of Britain? This story has always fascinated me.

Yes. He shot to fame in the 80’s when he chased a lad onto the tracks (St Helen’s I believe) and the lad died.

Very nasty yet incredibly intelligent. He would use public libraries and information in the public domain to track down people and intimidate.

In terms of the young lad, his name was Gary Kelly and it was New Brighton back in the summer of '86 or '87 where he'd followed him from the lido.

While his conviction being overturned may have been legally the right thing, it's a travesty because it was clear as day that his intimidation played a part in it.

Anywyay, not long after it was overturned Akinwale got absolutely leathered up Picton High Street.
