The ‘Purple Aki’

There’s also a rumour about him helping gangsters in prison with their legal cases as like someone said above, Aki is very intelligent and a bit of an expert in law.

Apparently this is why the organised crime gangs don’t mess Aki as they seem him as an asset.
Wasn't his father involved in law? Was a judge or something?

Thought he was some kind of urban legend for years. I remember kids in school going on about him in the 90's, about what he supposedly did to that lad on the train tracks (Usually massively over exaggerated, as is par for the course with teenagers)

Wasn't until the early 2000's when a lad I worked with, who used to work as an admin at the magistrates told me he was a real fella.
Used to turn up with that bag for life he's famous for filled with legal books. Used to defend himself quite a lot and got off with it more often than not.
Wasn't until a few years back when the press started getting on to him that he became more of a public figure.

Mad that I've heard the same 'boogey man' stories about him from people all over the north west as well.

I seen him once about 89, back then it wasn't the joke it is now, it's like he is a urban legend now and its funny but it wasn't when I was a kid, if word got round he was about you legged it home.
One of my mates got into a situation with him, basically some black lad robbed him, so it goes to court, the police actually warned my mate to be carful as the lad was a mate of Aki and he didn't want to get on the wrong side of him.

Same. When I was a kid, he was an urban myth. Loads of stories about him, some of which were probably not true.

Grew up not knowing whether he was even real or not, Didn’t even know if the New Brighton train story was real or not until much later in life, but it was believed enough to be scared of him, and remember a few times people seeing him about, and everyone just bolting.

He was known as Purple Aki well before the incident as well. I remember being in junior school in the mid 80’s and the stories of him. Loads of rumours that he was the son of a prince, son of a consulate

If you meet him you’ll never forget, simply because of the size of him. He’s a unit like
That's what I remember, he, through his father's position, had some sort of diplomatic immunity.
Seen him in town on the prowl many times. Actually did his whole muscle squeezing/do you go the gym thing on one of my mates in fron of BHS while we waited for the bus, hundreds of people around.
We stood there laughing and taking the pizz, out of my mate's fear or our's I can't remember.
Know a couple of talesfrom the time too moody to put up here.

There was a BBC documentary on him- The Man Who Squeezes Muscles: Purple Aki.

No I'm not joking either lol
Having just watched the re-run of Blackstuff has Purple taken a lead from "Shakey" the guy in the pub challenging kids to shake hand with him before crushing the bones in the hand?

He's recently been in the news over here in East Yorkshire up to his tricks. How old must he be considering I'm reading he was "active" in the nineties.

I just watched the BBC documentary "The man who squeezed muscles" and it was very sad that that kid lost his life. I actually thought that documentary was someone having a laugh but it's a real thing on BBC!
