Ben Affleck really wasn't listening there.

It's typical of a lot of people with his mind set. Just get angr, claim racism and bleat on about tarnishing a while set of people with the same brush.

Loved the point about brazilians and catholism. 'Liberals' would have no problem criticising cristianity, western culture or any form of patriotism. Unliberal liberals. God love em.

A lot of shouting and not a lot of listening from all sides. Doesn't help us get anywhere.

He reminds me of this bloke for some reason

I think the guy on the right was measured, reasonable and ultimately exasperated at Afleck's ridiculous responses. The other guys on the left were fairly measured to and at least acknowledged the points being made, even if I still think they are shying away from the cold hard truth.

Afleck is typical of so many 'progressive, liberal' people who actually contribute to the problem, by trying to shout down differing opinions with false accusations and showing a complete intolerance to having different points of view. The reason I posted it is because it is a great example of this mind set, and you can see in a small 5 person setting that his attitude created hostility, intolerance and a lack of understanding which included complete slander throughout. On a wider scale this is just dangerous as it denies people the right to express free speech, bring issues to the table and ultimately find solutions through debate because unfortunately people like Afleck are the ones who shout the loudest and people are afraid of being branded something theyre not, no matter how untrue it is.

The classic unliberal liberal.

Sorry, was talking about general discourse around the subject.

Affleck came off like a right berk in that clip. Not sure why we expect better from people like that though. He's a film star. Who cares what he thinks about geopolitics or religion?

Just remember, whenever Nick Clegg says anything about saving money or austerity. This is his home

They do have work to do, nevertheless, according to the polls Labour would currently get a majority of 58 in parliament.

Labour have been ahead in the polls since 2011.

Still comes down to voting for the ones you dislike the least, which really is no way to run a so called 'democracy', even Plato recognised that 'democracy' was the least worst means of governance. You'd think in the way the world has theoretically progressed we could have devised a more tolerant and considerate method of running society.
