I’ve had that one. It should read ‘the world’s most miserable umbrellas.’

THURSDAY 21ST NOVEMBER 7PM KO
WOMEN'S CONTINENTAL LEAGUE CUP
EVERTON WOMEN 1 MAN CITY WOMEN 4

Everton after the Joys of a Great derby away win at Anfield, were back in Continental Cup Action tonight facing the tough challenge of Man City Women, City had already beat Everton 1-0 in the league earlier in September, that was one of 10 successive Victorys Man City have Gained v Everton with Everton failing to score in 7 of those games, Everton needed the win to even have a very slim chance of going through to the Q/F and even then they needed a few things to go there way with Everton still having one game to go v Leicester Women in December

Infront of watching England womens boss Phil Neville at Marine FC, Everton began brightly with Hannan Cain having the 1st shot that went over the Bar on 2mins, Everton after another half chance then went even closer on 14mins when City Keeper Roebuck came out and missed the ball,it then fell to the Returning Chloe Kelly who on the half volley saw her shot clip the angle of post and bar,City's Caroline Weir then did very well to block a Chloe Kelly close Range shot on 28mins, before down the other end on 34mins Cup keeper Kirsty Levell then made a brilliant double save, 1st from Ellen White then a rebound, but just 2mins later on 36 and City took the lead,a corner headed home by Janine Beckie,it stayed 1-0 at Half time,

Onto the 2nd half and Everton got there reward just after HT, when Hannah Cain on 48mins after good work from Chloe Kelly down the left found she found Hannah Cain who then took aim and scored the top left hand corner, but Everton been level did not last as City then went and took the lead on 51mins when Tessa Wullaret got in behind the defence and managed to squeeze the ball underneath the on-rushing Levell, city then went close to a 3rd on 62mins when Demi Stokes made a good run down the left, her cross was met ex Toffee Jill Scott, Scott's shot ricocheted of Ellen White's head and wide,White then shot over seconds later, city were beginning to take control, and just a minute later on 63mins city got that 3rd when once again Everton were caught out by the good old set piece that no matter what version of Everton it is, Everton just cannot cope, the 3rd was Houghton’s header at the back post found Gemma Bonner who fired home from close range, Lauren Hemp should have made it 4 on 85 when she found the netting at the back of the goal, before on 86mins she did score beating Levell one one one, Everton sub Inessa Kaagman then hit the bar on 90mins from a long ditance shot

This defeat confirms Everton will be out with one Continental cup game left v Leicester in mid december, thats the battle of not finishing with the egg & spoon, Leicester are 6-1 down at HT to man utd women, but now Everton with 4 wins from 6 league games will turn back to league action as they play spurs home sunday with 12.30pm ko,spurs have 3 wins,3 defeats so far and lost 5-1 at chelsea wednesday in cup

SUNDAY 24TH NOVEMBER 12.30PM KO
WOMENS SUPER LEAGUE
EVERTON WOMEN 3 TOTTENHAM WOMEN 1

Everton women after a undeserved heavy midweek cup defeat to Man City were back in League action today v the newly promoted spurs Women in the 1st ever meeting between the 2 ,spurs have 3 wins and 3 defeats so far,Everton so far have 4 wins from 6,with those games going in sequency, Everton started with 2 wins, lost the next 2,then won the last 2, they were going for an hattrick of wins of any type for the 1st time in 21months [2 cups/league game] or the last time they won 3 in league in a row was may 2017 in the Championship-won 4 in row back then

Everton reverted back to more of a league team with 7 changes compared to the cup midweek team, they have been using quite a few different players for cups,After 2 mins and after a scramble in the box,Gabby George poked a shot towards goal which was pretty easy for spurs keeper Spencer, but on 5mins Everton took the lead with an excellent breakaway goal which started with a throw in in Everton right back postion with magill finding Turner running down the left and she crossed far post for Molly pike to finish right footed for her 2nd goal of the week,The opening 15mins Everton were causing spurs a lof of problems with not much the other way, spurs 1st shot came on 15mins which was blocked, but just 2mins later a back pass which was easy was mis controlled by the keeper and Lucy quinn put it in for 1-1 on 17mins,Everton did not deserve that and had no really pressure from spurs at all,but it did not take Everton long to regain a deserved lead on 24mins when 1st of all a free kick was saved very well from a lucy Graham diving header, but from the resulting corner the spurs keeper could not get the ball and to me was put in back post by Lucy Graham but goal was credited to Clemaron-hard to tell who actually scored but looked like Clemaron missed it and it hit Graham in the chest unless graham headed it onto Clemaron but then it went down officially as an OG from Anna Filbey , Everton had another 2 half chance in 2mins when Magill having shot held while Pike had shot blocked from edge of area, before Kelly then had a shot blocked , But Everton went into half time with a fully deserved lead after an excellent half and could have had more for there performance

Spurs started the 2nd half much better but Everton took a 3-1 lead with quite a brilliant finish From Anfield Her Lucy Graham on 56mins
when 1st of all Molly Pike got down the right and pulled the ball back to the edge of the area, but Graham hit it 1st time for a quality goal, just less than 90 seconds later it very nearly became 4-1 when Chloe Kelly hit a pile driver from around 25 yards that smacked the top of the bar,Everton were applying all the presure after that early good little 2nd half start from spurs,Kelly then had a left footer from distance easily held by the spurs keeper on 72mins,Kit Graham then had a spurs free kick way over before Rachel Furness then had another spurs shot that was no trouble, before again Kit Graham had another shot from long range that went wide after Everton started to play out causing themselves problems,Gabby George then had header easy for the spurs keeper on 86mins,think the spurs goal was there only shot on target from what i can remember but anyway It was an excellent overall performance with some neat and nice attacking with one touch footy and a full deserved win which keeps Everton 4th 3 points above man utd in 5th and 6points above the 6th placed team spurs with a few games to come today

Everton now play the Leaders Chelsea Women next sunday at 12.30pm,
